Availability

For dog walking: After we exchange information about your dog and their specific walking needs: duration, behaviour, socialisation etc. I will come and meet your dog ensuring we are the right match. Then we will head out to explore and sniff! I will take photos and videos for you and give tell you all about how we are getting on. For pet sitting: After we exchange information about your dog/cat, your home and their specific needs: feeding, behaviour, walking etc. I will come and meet you and your dog/cat, to ensure we are a good match. Most likely we will start the day with a morning walk after breakfast. During the day I will most likely be studying in your home, with breaks for play-time, toileting and cuddles. I rarely will leave the house for more than max. 2hrs at a time to pop to the shops, to go to the gym, or for lectures. In the evening we will go on another walk, followed by dinner and settling in for the night. For cat drop-ins: I am available for once or twice daily visits (morning/evening) to ensure your cat's feeding schedule remains consistent.

Safety, trust & environment

When I am a guest in your home, my priority is maintaining a stress-free, secure and loving environment for your pet. I follow your pets existing schedule, whether it's feeding times, a particular walking route or a no-sofa rule. I'm also extremely diligent when it comes to home security and will ensure all doors and gates are double-checked and I never leave keys in visible places. I treat your home with care, ensuring you return to a clean, tidy house and a happy, relaxed pet.

Information Saskia H. would like to know about your pet

Let me know if your pet has any special needs or you have any specific requests beforehand. I am happy to accommodate you as long as you are upfront about your pet and their behaviour. As a vet student, I have experience and am comfortable giving both oral and injectable medication, however if that is required please let me know in advance so we can discuss your pets specific needs.

A typical day

As I've mentioned previously, sticking to your pets normal routine and schedule is very important to me. If there's any fun activities your pet specifically likes to do let me know!

Pet care experience

Hi I'm Saskia! I'm a 3rd year veterinary student at the University of Liverpool, but currently based in Stratford-upon-Avon for the holidays. Since I'm renting and can't have pets of my own at the moment, I'm looking to fill that dog or cat shaped hole in my life by caring for yours. When I'm not studying, I'm usually training for my next triathlon, so if you have a high-energy breed that loves a long walk, I'm your person. However, I'm just as happy to provide a calm environment and plenty of cuddles for senior pets or those who prefer a more relaxed lifestyle. Understanding that our pets our important members of our families, I am conscious to check-in often with photos, videos and updates to ease anxiety.

Saskia is a lovely, friendly person and she was perfect to spend the evening looking after Huxley while we went to the RSC. She arrived on time and replied to all our questions beforehand very promptly. On the day, Huxley quickly settled down with Saskia, as Huxley always wonders why he get lefts behind if we go out without him. Leaving Huxley is tough, but Saskia's great messages and photos that she sent us allowed us to completely relax and enjoy our night out. Huxley was happy and well-cared for, snoozing happily when we got back. We all highly recommend Saskia and will definitely rebook, next time we come to Stratford.

Saskia looked after our lively 1 year old lab in our home and was fantastic. Our dog was obviously really happy and so well looked after. We received lots of updates on what they were up to and Saskia was a pleasure to talk to. We have already booked again!

Saskia was the best sister for our cat. We hadn’t left him before & as new cat owners we were nervous about 2 weeks holiday but didn’t want a cattery as he was a stray and we didn’t want him to feel abandoned . Saskia was simply amazing, we got a full daily Update with lots of photos and we were all excited to see him every day. She did a fabulous job and I can’t speak highly enough about her - she will make an amazing vet. Ben says thank you & he has a present for you .
