I’ve always been a dog person, even though I wasn’t allowed to have one growing up — so caring for dogs now feels like my way of making up for lost time. Dogs have always naturally gravitated toward me, and I’m very intuitive with them. I tend to pick up quickly on their body language, energy, and comfort level, and I genuinely enjoy spending time with them and building trust at their pace. Over the years, I’ve cared for dogs with different personalities, routines, and energy levels. I’ve participated in training with both of the dogs I care for and apply what I’ve learned through consistency, structure, and calm handling during daily walks and visits. With my own dog, Stitch, I’ve adjusted his care as he’s gotten older and now manage his routine around a leg injury. That experience has taught me a lot about patience, pacing, and making sure dogs still feel engaged and cared for as their needs change. I’ve also spent the past two years sitting and caring for a husky rescue named Cocoa. Through regular routines and consistent handling, she became comfortable and reliable on walks and in outdoor settings, including appropriate off-leash situations. This has made me especially comfortable caring for higher-energy dogs while still respecting the routines they’re used to. I take the time to understand each dog and follow the owner’s preferences closely. My focus is on providing calm, reliable care so dogs feel comfortable and owners feel at ease knowing their dog is in good hands.
