Availability
I am self employed, so I have a flexible schedule. I'm typically able to accommodate pretty much any schedule that a pet parent needs - including drop in visits, walking and even overnight house/pet sitting. I'm also comfortable with puppies and senior dogs/cats, as well as administering medications and special diets.

I'm a very detail oriented person, so whatever routine that you have I can easily adopt when I'm caring for your pets. I'm comfortable handling dogs with ALL different personalities with care and compassion. I'm a very happy and upbeat person, but I also have a calming nature, so I get along with all animals that I come across.

Information Sarah W. would like to know about your pet
It's important that you tell me as much about your pet as possible. Their general health, likes and dislikes, abilities (in terms of exercise or special needs), personality, etc. I need to know whether there are things that should be avoided - i.e. people/other dogs when on walks, any aggression tendencies, any anxieties your pet may have, etc. It's helpful if you write a list of necessary duties, especially for drop in visits or overnight stays, with times that your pet typically eats, any medications needed, how often they need potty breaks, their basic "routine", etc.
A typical day
When I'm booked for drop in visits or house-sitting: For Dogs: I take into account the breed and energy level as well as special needs. If they like to play, we'll go into the backyard or appropriate indoor area and play with toys or other "pet parent" approved activities. If they are not particularly fond of playing, we will cuddle on the couch. Always provide a potty break - on or off leash as needed, and provide any feedings or medications. I'm also happy to do any other basic household chores - watering plants, bringing in packages/mail, checking the home, etc. For Cats: Again I take into account the cat's personal likes/dislikes - if it's playing we'll do that, and if it's cuddles, we'll do that. Some cats prefer to have their own space, so I usually let them take the lead in this area until we're "cuddle acquainted". I always talk to pets when I'm visiting - we have our own little conversations so that they are comfortable and can get acquainted to my voice. I will typically always check food and water and administer any necessary medications. I'm also happy to do any other household chores like watering plants, bringing in packages/mail, cleaning litter boxes, checking the home, etc. When I'm booked for dog walking: I first take into account the dog's energy level and needs. Use the appropriate collars or harnesses provided by the owner. I can go for longer walks and even jogs with dogs who are more high energy, and shorter, easier walks for smaller dogs or senior dogs. I'm also comfortable taking two dogs for a walk at a time if necessary, so long as they walk well together (I frequently take my Pug and Golden Retriever on walks together on my own). Depending on what your dog likes to do, I'm comfortable with using a "long line" and bringing toys to play fetch if there is a park or open space nearby. I guarantee that your dog(s) will have a blast with me on walks! I also always provide photos of your pets while I'm doing drop in visits or walks so that you can rest assured they are happy and safe.

Pet care experience
Whether it’s for a fun walk, a playful drop in visit or even a longer overnight stay, I’m ready to help make sure your furry friends (and home) are well cared for. You can absolutely trust that I will treat your animals with the same care that I do my own. I’ve been pet sitting and farm/ranch sitting on and off for over 25 years, so I bring a lot of years of experience with me. I have a lifetime of experience as a pet owner – currently I have one sassy Pug, a loveable Golden Retriever, a very finnicky kitty and a horse. When it comes to pet care, I’m extremely responsible, attentive and reliable. I have experience administering medications, caring for senior pets and those with special needs and diets, I’ve fostered puppies and kittens, given vaccinations, handled animals with behavioral challenges and I’ve even managed businesses related to animal care. I’m self-employed with an established local business. I have a flexible schedule, making me available for everything from drop-in’s to walks, and even overnight house/pet sitting. I look forward to meeting you AND your furry (or scaly, feathered, etc.) family members!

Reviews

My rescue dog knows where his home is, and has consistently refused to leave with new dog walkers; he lays down on the driveway and refuses to go. We could get him to go with me following or by leaving a treat trail. He surprised me by joyously leaving with Sarah. She had the enthusiasm that distracted him, plus treats, and he trotted off on his walk. I’m impressed.

Our first time having Sarah watch our 2 cats. It was a great experience. She is professional, follows directions and is conscientious. We received detailed notes from her visits w pictures of our cats and the tasks that she took care of. Thank you. We will definitely be repeat customers.

Sarah was great! Reliable and very attentive to our cats. Good communication and always kept us updated on cats with photos.

Sarah had great communication, accommodated my pets needs, and followed instructions closely.
