Availability
I work 9-5 in Chapel Hill, so I can only accept dogs who are OK with being home for most of the day. More than happy to walk in the morning and/or evening as needed!

I have a fenced in backyard for furry friends to run around in! My backyard overlooks a walking trail in Woodcroft, so many dogs have sat on my back porch and walked families and pets as they go by.

Information Sarah V. would like to know about your pet
No breed preferences. I've worked with all kinds of dogs, big and small. I always like to know dogs' levels of comfort with other animals, including squirrels and rabbits, which live nearby. It's important to know if your pet has jumped over fences before.
A typical day
I love walks to let all new friends get a sense of the smells across the neighborhood! There are a ton of dogs in my neighborhood, so there's lots to explore! However, it's pretty easy to avoid running into other pets if need be.

Pet care experience
Hi! It seems like you're looking for someone to take care of your pet. Not just take care of your pet — make sure your pet feels at home in their own home. You're looking for a pet sitter who will go above and beyond feeding and walking. You want someone who will protect and love your pet while you're gone. I get it. And I'm your girl. I've been pet sitting for over 10 years and house sitting for about as long. I grew up in a family full of pets, so for as long as I can remember, I've been taking care of them — either my own or for other people. I love animals, and would be honored to take care of your special pets! Pre-pandemic, I used to travel across the country doing long-term pet sits. For six months, I lived with 12 cats, playing and caring for each one. I've cared for dogs, cats, guinea pigs, rabbits and more. When I'm not playing with animals, I'm a journalist, a Tar Heel, and a travel addict. I'm not currently in a position where I can own my own pet, but I wish I could. I'm hoping Rover can give me an opportunity to meet some new animal friends.
Reviews
Sarah was super kind and professional. She did a great job helping me clean and set up our guinea pigs crate. Thankful that she's had experience with guinea pigs and knew what she was doing 🙌🏾

Sarah took great care of my baby while I was away. He was very well loved in my absence. Will definitely ask for her to watch him again.

Sent pictures every visit and was great with communication!

Would definitely recommend Sarah! She came for a meet and greet the day before the visit and went slow with our little baby. This was our dog’s first Rover visit. The day of her visit she went slow and gave her treats. She noticed she was slightly skittish and knew exactly how to work with her. Thank you again for everything!
