Loving & responsible dog boarders
We are empty nesters (no kids or pets currently in our home), so your pet will get all of our attention. We have been loving dog and cat owners and have taken care of animals our whole lives. We adopted our last dog, Teddy, as a highly energetic 60 lb one-year-old and raised him to the ripe old age of 17. He was in great health up to the end. We look forward to meeting you and your pet!

I have known Sarah for several years as she is my next-door neighbor. She always loved to take care of my beloved Pomeranian princess Lola. Sarah is always there for me and loves dogs dearly. Sara also helped me train princess Lola. She’s a great caretaker. I watched Sarah care for her dog Teddy in his final months. She would carry Teddy up and down four flights of stairs in his final months so that he could go outside; his comfort was most important to her and she showed him unconditional love and care. I would recommend Sarah to anyone who’s looking for a great dog sitter!
I’ve known Sarah almost her entire life, and she has always been incredibly devoted to her dogs. She’s had many rescue dogs as pets, and takes care of them like they are her children. She always puts their needs ahead of her own, and would be an amazing person to look after your dog.

Schedule
Tim works from home three days a week, and I work from home full time, so your dog will have lots of company and attention. Note: while we can almost always offer frequent walks, on rare occassion we will need to be away for up to 6 hours.

Safety, trust & environment
We host pets in our Gramercy area apartment, and we love to walk dogs in the neighborhood, and we can bring them to the large off-leash dog run that's just downstairs from us if you would like. We are comfortable with large and energetic dogs and will make sure they get plenty of exercise. Note: because we live on the 5th floor of a walk-up building, we can only board dogs who are either 1.) able to walk up several flights of stairs themselves or 2.) are small enough for us to carry up and down the stairs (we would do so happily).
A typical day
If your dog's health and temperament allow, we love to go for long walks and play fetch in the off-leash dog park across the street. We also have fun playing with dogs in the apartment and on our terrace. On a rainy days, we like to bring more social dogs to Boris & Horton, the nearby dog-friendly cafe.

Tell us about their preferences (and your preferences) in terms of length of walks, feeding times, how they like/don't like to socialize, and how much experience they have being away from you and how they tend to react.
