Information Sarah T. would like to know about your pet

I prefer to meet dogs and parents/owners before sitting. What helps me the most is to know the dog's daily schedule. If I can provide them the routine they are used to, it makes having a new human around much easier.

A typical day

There will of course be lots of snuggles and love. My neighborhood is close to the mountain to sea trail which is a fun place to take animals. I go to lots of local trails, greenway, sometimes even the river depending on what would best suit t animal(s) in my care. I also walk near my house for quick or rainy trips. In Banner Elk, I like going to the park, duck pond and other local trails.

Pet care experience

The dogs I have the pleasure of watching become like family. My love of animals is apparent to both animals and owners. I have a talent for understanding what dogs need, but mostly I love dogs and they can tell! I have dog sat since 2014. Snuggling, walking, engaging, and being in nature are all beloved activities that help to make me successful with animals. I have worked in the public school system, earned my masters in higher Education and now tutor and coach students. I volunteer with the Watauga Humane Society Education committee which combines both animals and students. I also make natural crafts, and my time outside with the animals help me to find many treasures. Whether tutoring or dogsitting, I do my best to ensure I help each being I encounter. I have experience with young to older dogs, and dogs with special needs. I am comfortable administering medicine, even for diabetic dogs. Finally, I am trustworthy, discreet, and fulfill my responsibilities.

Sarah kept me updated on how things were going, and she was always prompt to respond to my messages - two things that are highly important to me! My boy is a typical small dog and can be a little fiesty but he seemed to warm to Sarah very quickly! I had to find a pet sitter at the last minute when my scheduled sitter got sick and Sarah was flexible and accommodating so that I didn’t have to change any plans!

Sarah really cares for our cats and is so attentive. She spends quality time on each visit. When we return from trips they seem at peace. Sarah is the best!

Sarah was great with my pup. She came and let him out twice while we were visiting a ski resort as we were in the area on vacation. She took him on walks, played with him and spent time with him while we were away and sent pictures as well. It was nice to know he was being cared for while we were gone for the day. I would recommend Sarah for your pet sitting needs!
