Information Sarah T. would like to know about your pet

If a dog has any medical or specific requirements I simply ask to be informed so I can be fully and properly prepared in detail. A major benefit is that I have tons of training, certifications and many years of personal/professional experience; including special needs of all kinds. My own dogs and extensive training taught me to work with dogs who are blind, deaf, allergy prone or chronic tummy, ear, eye, teeth, skin problems, along with arthritis, back issues (such as degenerative disc disease) tripod dogs, front or rear wheel attachments and an extensive list of other special need ailments. . I am also trained to manage other more serious medical ailments or major emergencies such as seizures, diabetes, cancer patients, over heating, bloating, pancreantitis, diabetes, Atkinson’s disease, wound care and again much more. Essentially I am equipped to handle common or extreme cases of emergency care. You can feel very confident and comfortable with my abilities at handling any current ongoing requirements or any unexpected situations that may arise. Naturally, if your dogs take medications then I would want to go over that in detail. But rest assured that if you have a beloved dog and must travel for any reason, you can do so at “Auntie’s Dawg House”. I will always set up a Meet and Greet beforehand so that I can get to know as much as I can about my fur guests. It is also equally important for me to become fully informed by you parents about your expectations. Likewise, I use this time to give you a full overview of what a day in the life of your dog will be like during their time with us. I love to become aquatinted with the dogs and they can in return grow more comfortable with me. Therefore, when they do return to stay, we are already a bit familiar with one another which I find to be very helpful. In fact if there’s enough time between a meet and greet and the first reservation I strongly suggest a “get aquatinted” daycare day! This day can be so beneficial, especially for certain dogs such as those with anxiety/separation issues or fear of new people. This is all determined on a case by case basis and together we can decide what is in your dogs best interest to set them up for success during their time here.

A typical day

So a typical day, begins with letting the dogs out to potty of course. Then we prep breakfast as the dogs rest up before eating. We drop breakfast keeping all dogs completely separated as we do NOT mix dogs and food ever!! After breakfast, we let them rest again to digest. Once they’ve done that and timing is safe, we encourage outside fun!! We repeat this cycle for dinner (and lunch if a dog requires a mid day meal). When the dogs get tired we love to make it extra cozy and to feel as close to being at their own home as we can. We will put the television on for background noise and cuddle up with the dogs on the couch or beds (if given permission to do so). We make sure everyone is feeling loved and getting plenty of attention. We both live for snuggle time and it’s an important part of their day as we know they miss their family! It is essential to us that each guest feels adored and as much love as they possibly can while in our care. We are open to whatever activities best suit the needs of each dog in our care. We love outside time where the dogs can romp around, chase each other, play fetch, do zoomies, sun bathe and just have a blast!! We have an interesting layout in the back which enables the dogs to do a number of things at their discretion. There is a nice section along the side of the house which makes for a perfect long dog run! We have a large deck space, often used for sunbathing or more running around from one area to another. It almost goes in a full circle so they can assuredly let out their energy with the outdoor design. There’s another section of the yard where the dogs typically go potty so it’s nice as they are separated and this helps us keep our yard and the dogs as clean as possible!! We also offer trail walks or visits to a park should anyone request that! Sometimes we get older dogs and so we would curtail their activity based on the dog and whatever specific needs they may have. Dr G and his staff at San Ramon Animal Hospital often refer dogs to us as they know I have the experience, expertise and training to care for dogs of all kinds. But often those with any range of special needs. Typically, nothing is beyond my skill set so we will always be open to meeting and ensuring that we are the best fit for your beloved senior or special needs doggy!

FULL TIME DOG CARE: LLC & INSURED

Pet care experience

I am blessed to currently still have 1 precious senior dog left from my original pack of 6 dogs!! Although we have doggies here every day, my heart still had an hole in it, after losing my babies. So recently I rescued a 2nd baby who’s brought tremendous joy and an amazing vibe to our home. Over the years I was a repeat foster flunky and a rescue enthusiast who typically took in the dogs most in need of special care. As a result I have become quite skilled at caring for multiple dogs at a time with ease no matter what the scenario. Also having raised 5 dogs from puppyhood through the senior stage, I have gained tremendous insight into all stages of dogs lives. I have personally and professionally experienced just about anything you can imagine. Therefore I am fully versed and prepared to care for all dogs from pups to seniors and can handle any scenario thrown my way with confidence and a calm nature. Professionally, I have been working in the animal care industry for over 20+ years now. Before moving to California, I was a District Manager for a wonderful company for over 15 years. They provide pet boarding, daycare, grooming and veterinary services. I Managed 5-7 facilities and gained many accolades over the years. They’d move me all over the country to help set up a new Region and make it as successful as the last. To become a District Manager I was required to be extensively trained in each one of the departments. Consequently I obtained extensive training and certifications required to run daycare, boarding, grooming and most notably veterinary services. Since living in California almost 7 years now, I worked in upper Management for another doggy daycare/boaring franchise, until COVID hit and things shut down. So for the last 5+ years, I have been dog sitting Rover customers along with many referral based clients. The combination of both my personal and professional experiences, has resulted in a remarkable knowledge of all aspects within the dog care industry. Consequently, I have become quite successful turning this into a full time career and all right from the comfort of home sweet home. I am very confident in my ability to provide the best possible supervision and companionship to your beloved doggies and treat them all exactly how I would want my own dogs to be treated. Caretaking for animals is my truest passion and now something I cannot ever imagine my life without. I genuinely vow to care of each dog as if they were my own and mean this with the utmost sincerity. Feel free to checkout any of my reviews for confirmation of this! I am available 24/7 as this is now my full time career that has developed into starting my own business. I like to keep Rover open to meet new customers and their doggies! Once we meet, we can discuss the transition process to my personal company which obtained an LLC, insurance and continues to grow, especially after moving into a perfect home that feels like it was designed and destined to be a dog sitters place!! I am completely open to having multiple dogs at once as long as everyone gets along. I request to meet beforehand to ensure it is the best fit for everyone. I never leave the dogs unattended as I needed another dog care professional living with me and working as my partner, as the business continued to grow. My live in work partner is my best friend, I would even say soul mate. He has over 20 years of dog care experience as well. In fact, we met in the industry while working at one of the commercial facilities I managed. He also happens to be a CERTIFIED DOG GROOMER!!!!! We even built a full service grooming salon inside the bonus apartment on the property just behind the main house. We now offer full grooming services and added that to the business model. Together we are able to provide 24/7 top notch care for all of our guests. We chose this home due to the layout and tremendous amount of space. Naturally it’s geared towards the comfort and safety of the dogs above all else!! Thankfully there is enough space we can curtail each dogs particular activity level and even segregate the dogs based on size, age, energy level and just all around vibes with one another. It’s truly the best set up for what we do and the dogs absolutely benefit from that! We encourage each dog to do as they please and whatever makes them happy. This can range from full speed zoomies and romping around with their play pals to lounging/sunbathing on one of our deck areas or simply snuggling on one of our many cozy beds or nuzzled in our arms. Whatever they want is what they get!! We have tons of dog beds throughout the entire home. However we welcome you to bring your dogs own bed of course! We do provide the best quality crates (in every size) should your dog require one. However, please know that the dogs are NOT REQUIRED TO CRATE!! They are all welcome to roam freely. It is only if a customer prefers their dog to rest or sleep in a crate that we provide them. We can absolutely arrange that and obtained them as a convenience, so that no one ever has to lug their own crate over along with everything else. As for safety and trust, both me and my partner have extensive experience and thus know what to look for in all aspects of a dogs health and well being. I am always extremely transparent with the parents and keep you fully informed by staying in frequent contact. Ensuring you feel connected to your dog is a major part of what we do. We ensure that you will be kept informed of everything related to them throughout their stay. I send tons of photos, videos and detailed updates. I can confidently assure you that I do everything in my power to maintain your peace of mind by seeing your kiddo via the pics and videos to put you at ease and be free to enjoy your time away or focus on a work trip, whatever the case may be. Please read any of our reviews which confirm all of the above.

Sarah is fantastic. She's extremely responsive and personable on top of being an experienced and knowledgeable dog caretaker. She noticed and updated me on nuances of my dog's behavior throughout the day in terms of how she got along with the others and seemed to be settling in. Knowing my dog, I can tell Sarah was really paying attention and was spot on in her observations. My dog came home relaxed with a wagging tail and was excited to go back for the second day!

Sarah is amazing. She is willing to try many avenues to have my pittie comfortable in her loving home. This is our second day and my dog is getting there! I’m hopeful Zoe will get acclimated soon as I know she will be cared for in the same way as she is at home. Thanks Auntie Dawg!

Sarah is so great! You can tell she has a lot of experience with dogs and she made us and Billie feel at ease. Very friendly, welcoming and patient, and went above and beyond for Billie during her daycare stay. Will definitely book again!
