Availability
I recently finished my PhD and am looking forward to any opportunity to take a pup out for a walk and spend some quality time with animals. I’m currently working part time and primarily work from home so my schedule is flexible. Happy to work with you to figure out a plan that's the best case scenario for your pet. Feel free to reach out if my availability is not quite a perfect fit with what you need, as I may be able to shift some things around :)

I treat your home with the same respect and care as I do my own, making sure everything is kept clean, secure, and as I found it. I follow any instructions closely, whether it's feeding schedules, medication routines, or walking routes, as I know that consistency can help your pet feel safe and relaxed, especially with a new person. I also keep a close eye on doors, gates, and anything that could pose a risk, and I’m always mindful of your pet’s comfort and stress levels. I’m always missing my pets when I am away and appreciate good communication, so I’m happy to send regular updates and photos so you know your pet is happy and your home is in good hands.
Information Sarah S. would like to know about your pet
The more I know about your pet ahead of time, the better I can make our time together. I love planning a quick meet and greet beforehand just to make sure we're all a good fit and so your pet can meet me in a low-pressure setting. That said, if you're in a pinch, don't hesitate to reach out and we can chat to figure something out. In addition to the basics (any medical needs/medications, feeding schedules, etc.), it's always helpful to learn how your pet tends to do with new people, whether they warm up quickly or need a little extra patience and time to feel comfortable. It's also great to know about any behavioral quirks, triggers, or things to avoid, as well as any house rules (favorite hiding spots, off-limit areas, etc.). If we'll be heading outside, I'd love to know how they do on a leash and which routes or areas they enjoy. And of course, have to know their favorite toys, games, and treats! Whether your pet is a fetch fanatic, a feather wand enthusiast, or somewhere in between, the little details go a long way in helping me make every visit feel familiar and fun for them.
A typical day
Whether I'm stopping by for a visit or spending more quality time, my goal is always to make your pet feel loved, comfortable, and entertained! Every visit starts with a check-in and plenty of cuddles and pets. From there, I'll follow their and your lead! If they're up for it, we'll head out for a walk to get some fresh air and explore. I'll take time to figure out what makes them happiest, whether that's chasing a favorite toy, playing a game they love, or just lounging together for some calm company. If you're working on any training or tricks, I'm happy to do my best to keep that going too!

Pet care experience
Hi there, my name is Sarah and I’m excited to meet your pup! I grew up with dogs (Bernese mountain dog, lab/golden retriever/german shepard mix, rescue mix with weimaraner, lab, and probably some others!) and started dog sitting for friends and neighbors in high school. My first gig was caring for a family friend’s pets including 4-5 dogs, 2 cats, a gecko, 2 birds, 12 chickens, and occasionally a bunny! Needless to say it was an adventure. I love spending time with animals and have my own cat at the moment. I understand what it’s like for your pets to be family and will care for them like they’re my own!

Reviews

Sarah is an amazing cat sitter! Our cats love her and she sends a lot of photos daily. She also kept the place tidy and helped out with issues found on the house

Planning with Sarah was a breeze and my dogs clearly had a great time with her! She sent such cute pictures. And Sarah is so observant - she noticed and asked about a gait issue in one dog, which is an ongoing thing (luxating patella).

Sarah was very thorough and sent us lots of cute pictures! She was very attentive to our cats and played with them every visit!

Sarah did a great job taking care of our cat. Sarah was responsive, reliable, and really took time to get to know our cat. Would definitely have her cat sit again!
