Pet care experience
Experienced and Respectful Sitter
I am a former dog-mom looking to host doggos in our home for a reminder of the joys of dog companionship without the long-term commitment. Our 80lb black lab died as an elderly pup a few years ago and it has taken some time for us to be ready to welcome another pup into our home. Our former dog, Maddie, struggled with dog-aggression, leash-reactivity, and general anxiety. I have A LOT of experience with clicker training and positive training methods for managing dog anxiety, stress, and aggression towards other dogs. I'm also experienced in watching for signs of dog stress around kiddos. I have been dog-sitting for friends since we lost our pup and am ready to open my home to the broader world of dogs in need of care.

Ratings and reviews
Sarah is a wonderful dog sitter! Kind, caring, incredibly responsive and communicative, and a wonderful host for our pup Cabot. We’ve worked with Sarah several times over the past year or so, and couldn’t recommend her more! She’s great about sharing updates and photos and always checks in if she has a question about something. We’ve also had to extend our doggos stay with her and she’s been incredibly flexible and gracious in working with us. Highly recommend booking with her!

Sarah communicated really well. Sent photo updates and offered my pup bully sticks. My dog seemed happy and comfortable.

Mocha had another great stay with Sarah!

They were great with our dog! Very communicative, and experienced with reactive dogs, which made us feel at ease.
Sarah made our senior dog’s stay so comfortable and wonderful. We were worried that zeta may not come back with us. 😂 thanks Sarah for taking such good care of our fur baby. ❤️

Sarah is the absolute best! She and her son treat our pup like family. She’s great about checking in, super accommodating and communicative, obviously experienced and a natural with annimals, and just a wonderful human. We feel so lucky to have found her!

Schedule
I currently work from home full-time. I transport my son to/from school which takes me out of the home for 40-90 minutes twice/day in the morning and afternoon M-F. I’m occasionally away from the house 4-6 hours on Sat/Sun when a dog is boarding with me— if this is an issue for your dog, please let me know ahead of time so I can plan for that.

Home characteristics
Safety, trust & environment
I have a fenced yard, a partner, and a 8 year old son. Our home would be appropriate for dogs who are comfortable with respectful older kids.
A typical day
I have a gated porch and on sunny days my front door is open so pups can lounge indoors or out as they desire. I have a fenced yard for frequent potties, and an awesome neighborhood for walks-- including a park nearby and lots of hills. A typical day would consist of a morning potty break in the yard as soon as we are up and periodically throughout the day. Dogs will get a mid morning walk and an afternoon walk at minimum, and a last potty break in the yard before bedtime.

- Dogs that stay with us should be comfortable around older kids (mine is 8). Please let me know whether your pup is treat-motivated and what commands he/she knows that you'd like me to use while they stay with us. If your pup has any allergies or special food considerations (i.e. no dairy-based treats or any other allergies), that would be good to know. Let me know any dog- or human- interaction considerations I should be aware of. Any history of animal or human biting/lunging, resource-guarding, etc. I'd also like to know what a typical day at home with you is like and what level of activity they are accustomed to.
