Pet care experience

experienced and caring

I grew up training dogs, including diabetic alert dogs, and worked at a boarding facility throughout high school and undergraduate. I'm excited to have the opportunity to give your pets more individual attention than is offered by most boarding kennels. I have worked with young, rambunctious puppies who need someone to keep up with their shenanigans, aging seniors who need a gentle hand and lots of patience, and everything in-between.

Safety, trust & environment

My home visits for dogs include a walk (10 - 15 minutes if the weather cooperates) followed by another 10 - 15 minutes of inside play (or cuddles if your pup is more lowkey). I can administer medications and, of course, feed them and refresh their water. For an additional fee, I can provide training during these visits--please inquire for more info! My home visits for cats include 10 - 15 minutes of play time, followed by meal time and affection. I also scoop the litterbox(es) and refresh their water bowls.

Sarah takes such great care of our pups when we’re gone. It’s so nice knowing they are loved there and they also have so much fun!

Schedule

I'm a PhD student at Cornell University. I work at the Baker Institute for Animal Health, where I'm studying herpesviruses. I typically head to work early in the morning so that I can be home in the early afternoon (around 3 or 4) to spend time with my dog outdoors before it gets dark. We would love to include your dog(s) in our afternoon walks and hikes! On the weekends, I typically devote a few hours each morning to being outdoors with my dog--sometimes I even bring my cat!

Sarah can host up to 3 drop-ins per day
Please share your dogs age, sex, breed (if known), and energy level. Additionally, I'd love to know what games they love to play, which toys are their favorite, and any bad habits (like counter surfing) to watch out for so I can keep them safe.
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
