I'm a PhD student at Cornell University. I work at the Baker Institute for Animal Health, where I'm studying herpesviruses. I typically head to work early in the morning so that I can be home in the early afternoon (around 3 or 4) to spend time with my dog outdoors before it gets dark. We would love to include your dog(s) in our afternoon walks and hikes! On the weekends, I typically devote a few hours each morning to being outdoors with my dog--sometimes I even bring my cat!

Safety, trust & environment

My home visits for dogs include a walk (10 - 15 minutes if the weather cooperates) followed by another 10 - 15 minutes of inside play (or cuddles if your pup is more lowkey). I can administer medications and, of course, feed them and refresh their water. For an additional fee, I can provide training during these visits--please inquire for more info! My home visits for cats include 10 - 15 minutes of play time, followed by meal time and affection. I also scoop the litterbox(es) and refresh their water bowls.

Information Sarah S. would like to know about your pet

Please share your dogs age, sex, breed (if known), and energy level. Additionally, I'd love to know what games they love to play, which toys are their favorite, and any bad habits (like counter surfing) to watch out for so I can keep them safe.

A typical day

I especially love going for walks. If your dog is friendly and would enjoy some canine companionship, I'll bring my dog Hubble along. If you have a yard or dog park nearby, I can include some off leash play so they can really stretch their legs. Have a pup that you just can't seem to tire out? Let him tag along with me and Hubble on our hikes! For a small fee, I'm willing to pick up and drop off your pet. I can't promise he'll come back super clean, though--we have lots of fun out there!

Pet care experience

I grew up training dogs, including diabetic alert dogs, and worked at a boarding facility throughout high school and undergraduate. I'm excited to have the opportunity to give your pets more individual attention than is offered by most boarding kennels. I have worked with young, rambunctious puppies who need someone to keep up with their shenanigans, aging seniors who need a gentle hand and lots of patience, and everything in-between.
