Pet care experience

Energetic and experienced!

Hello! I’m Sarah Eve and I am excited to meet you and your pets! I’ve been working with dogs since I was very young—starting as a volunteer at animal shelters at just 8 years old and helping family, neighbors, and friends care for their pets. After college, I trained and worked professionally as a dog trainer for over 15 years. During that time, I worked with clients on everything from group puppy classes to advanced skills, and even helped senior dogs learn new tricks. I assisted in the creation and implementation of a behavior modification program at a shelter in Maine. I also have experience in therapy and service dog training, search and rescue, tracking, and versatile hunting. While I have a wide range of knowledge and techniques, I am first and foremost a force-free trainer who believes in positive reinforcement. Every dog is unique, and I tailor my approach to suit each individual’s needs—there is no “one size fits all” approach to training. Beyond Dogs In addition to my extensive background with dogs, I have hands-on experience caring for a wide variety of animals. Over the years, I’ve been responsible for providing care to reptiles, small animals, chickens, rabbits, and even goats, horses, and cattle. I truly enjoy working with animals of all kinds and bring the same patience, attentiveness, and respect to each one.

Calendar and availability

Schedule

What I Offer: I currently work at a local animal shelter, which gives me daily hands-on experience with pets of all personalities, ages, and needs. I spend much of my day caring for animals, supporting enrichment activities, and helping ensure every pet feels safe and loved. Outside of work, my own dog, Charlie, keeps me active with morning and evening walks around our neighborhood — and I’d love to give your dog that same level of care and attention.

A typical day

What a Typical Day Looks Like: A typical walk with me is more than just exercise—it’s a chance for your dog to burn off both physical and mental energy. As a trainer, I like to weave fun training exercises into walks, keeping them engaging and enriching. When caring for pets at my home or yours, our day usually includes a couple of walks, playtime in the yard (when applicable), and sometimes a trip to a park. Training is always part of the routine, whether through structured games, walking together, or simply reinforcing good manners during downtime. My goal is to provide a safe, positive, and enriching environment so your dog feels stimulated, relaxed, and loved while in my care.

Please provide as much information about your dog as you can. Does your dog have any special needs and/or behaviors I should be aware of (leash reactivity, resource guarding, etc)? Have they ever had a sitter stay with them before? What is their typical day like? If behavioral modification training is needed/wanted, let me know and we can consult and discuss a plan.
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
