Safety, trust & environment
The safety of your pet is the most important part of being a pet sitter as well as an animal lover. I double check to make sure I have the essentials when leaving your house, leash secured, and door locked. No matter what service I offer I understand that your pet is part of your family and should be treated as such when you’re not home.
Information Sarah R. would like to know about your pet
Information to know about your dog ahead of time are if they have allergies, unusual tendencies, prior or on going health issues or injuries, dogs in the area that they don’t care for, easily agitated by certain people ex. Mail men or delivery people. It’s essential that I know anything that will spook or upset your dog if they’re sensitive to outside elements as well as medications or special treats they eat.
A typical day
Some fun activities that I can do with your dog is go on long walks whether permitting (too hot we’ll take shorter walks but play in the house). I live in an area where there are a lot of different trails and dog parks that are available. I also love to cuddle and relax with them if they want.

Pet care experience
I have been pet sitting for neighbors, family, and family friends. I love cats and dogs and enjoy spending time when I pet sit. Pets are part of the family and should be cared as such when left in another's care. I work 5 days a week from 10-7. So I can do morning and evening walks As a pet sitter the care and safety of the animal is top priority. I will always make sure the the leash is attach and secure. When leaving the house I always double check to make sure key is in hand and door is locked.
Reviews

Sarah was absolutely amazing!! I had a great week knowing my kitties were well cared for. Thank you so much for doing such a wonderful job!

I wanted to echo the sentiments that Laura T just posted about Sarah. I did not write a review after she sat for my two dogs in March but feel compelled to do so now. Sarah was 9 hours late on day one and only when I texted non stop did I find out that she was not at my house because she had to go home to her house and take care of her sick cat. I was HYSTERICAL and thought I was going to have to fly home and cut my vacation short. I was absolutely paranoid about the rest of my time away because I, too, did not know if she was ever there or if she was taking care of my dogs. I had neighbors swing by to see if they could see her car in my driveway since no one saw my dogs outside....ever. Nor did she walk them. I think she walked them 1-2x during her stay (5 days) and the only updates I received was when I called or texted her begging for them....and I was doing so just to make sure she was actually at my house. When I got home, I also noticed she didn't even bother to clean up any of the dog poop in the backyard and seeing how much was back there I knew the dogs weren't walked. I feel remiss in not posting this sooner, but I encourage you to find someone else who actually wants to take care of your pups.

We appreciated Sarah’s eagerness at the start and she seemed like a dog lover. I would hire her again if necessary but I am a little hesitant to fully recommend at this point. I’m almost positive she came late the first day, but not 100% sure as we didn’t hear anything and when I reached out, she didn’t respond until 7:30p and I asked her to get there anytime before 5p. To be fair, our door was hard to open so we appreciate that she was able to use the back door to get in. However, we only received updates if we asked, and even then it seemed like a chore. We only got a “it’s going great.” when asked, and 2 pictures of him not looking happy over the 5 days we were gone. When we got home, our dog appeared scared. He went to the bathroom and was crying like his stomach hurt. Could be nerves. Hard to say if she really spent the night here or not. Maybe just an off week, we all have them. Next time I would just ask her to try to send more updates. I would also say that she is the most expensive sitter we’ve used on Rover and I’m not quite sure why that is. Thanks
Responsible and sweet sitter. My shy little, recently rescued Maltese warmed right up to Sarah.
