I've taken care of pets in some way or another for most of my life, whether they were family pets or pets of friends who needed a hand. I grew up around dogs of all breeds and sizes- from dachshunds and chihuahuas to pitbulls, labs, and german shepherds. My petsitting experience began in college when I stayed at my dad and stepmom's house caring for their two dachshunds, Pepper and Rachel, while they were out of the country for two weeks. I also did drop-in visits for my friend's dog, Milo, for years. Any time my friend was out of town, I would come over twice a day to walk Milo, feed him and refill his water, and spend some time playing or snuggling with him (whatever he was more in the mood for). More recently, I have become my friend's go-to petsitter for her Aussie-pit mix, Olive, and her elderly black cat, Annie. When I stay with Olive and Annie, I make sure to let Olive out a few times a day, feed her at night, make sure her water bowl is full, and give her lots of love and attention. I also make sure Annie's litter box gets cleaned twice a day, that her food and water bowls are always full, and that she gets the medicines she needs when she needs them.
