I’ve always been an animal person and have cared for animals in all kinds of settings. I’ve worked as a veterinary assistant, trained puppies in an organized setting, and grew up on a farm so we got to take care of a lot of animals there. I also worked at a large-animal research station where I was responsible for the daily care of musk ox and reindeer. Beyond my work experience, I’ve spent my whole life caring for pets and understand that every animal has their own personality, routine, and needs. I’m comfortable with young, energetic animals and am more than happy to give extra patience and attention to senior pets or animals that need a little additional care.

I’m happy to care for pets in their own home, which is often the best option for keeping them comfortable and sticking to their normal routine. I’m respectful of your home and will make sure your pets get plenty of attention, exercise, and care while you’re away. I can also have dogs stay at my home from time to time when my roommates’ schedules allow, so I’m flexible depending on what works best for you and your pet.

I have met many dog- and cat-lovers throughout my days, but I haven’t met someone who cares so deeply and has more fun hanging out with animals than Sarah Olson. She took care of my two Chesapeake Bay retrievers, Boone and Daisy, and my cat, Deluxe Supreme, with verve. I swear all the animals were glowing after their time with her. She’s cordial, takes them on long walks, gives them lots of scratches and, I assure you, Rover would be better for having her on her crew.
Sarah is a loving and playful person who has endless energy to play and care for pets. She is amazing with cats and dogs and has a great sense of meeting an animal where they are at- she can match a high energy dog with big play, or let a shyer cat approach her.

Schedule
I’m currently a Nordic ski coach, so my schedule is fairly flexible during the day. We typically have practice around 4 PM, with occasional meetings throughout the day, but I have plenty of availability before and after practice for walks, drop-ins, feeding, and pet care. I’m able to build pet care into my daily routine and give your animal plenty of attention and companionship while you’re away.
