Safety, trust & environment

I am committed to treating your dog the way you would while you are gone. I know how important routine and comfort is for pups when their human(s) go away. Staying consistent with day to day norms is key!

Information Sarah M. would like to know about your pet

Please let me know of any unique or challenging things about your dog even if they have caused other care takers to decline care. Knowing about this helps me to mentally prepare and plan for ways to assist your pet in those off moments. I have a wide breadth of experience and I am not typically surprised or concerned about such things. Having had a misunderstood large breed myself I air on the side of preparation so I can effectively protect your dog in any give situation, the only way to do that is to know what might be triggering or habitual for them. Knowing how and when specific attention is needed is key. My intention is to build a relationship with all the Rover families I sit for. That said, being upfront about challenges you have with your pup I might also encounter goes a long way.

A typical day

I will stick to the routine your dog knows to create a sense of continuity, this allows for a happy and relaxed pup. Within the routine we will take walks, play games, and if allowed take a drive to a local hiking trail or beach for some outside enrichment. We'll go on an evening potty walk and enjoy some cuddles (if your pup is into that) to round out the day.

Pet care experience

I know how important routine and comfort is for pups when their human(s) go away. Staying consistent with the day to day norm is so important. I am committed to treating your dog the way you would while you are gone. A little more about me: I was born & raised in farm country with cows, horses, geese, chickens, cats, dogs ... you name it. I've been an animal lover from a young age and i've had / cared for horses, dogs, cats, rabbits, fish, birds etc. I started dog / house sitting in my late teens for friends and family. What sets me apart? Dogs of all sizes have stollen my heart but none more than the big breeds people often shy away from. I love Canes, Danes, Rotties, Pitties, Mastiffs, Dogos, Presas ... the bigger the dog the bigger the heart! Having been a mom to a papered Rottweiler as well as a Rottweiler rescue I can say no one dog is easier than another, they are all so unique and individualistic just like us. After rehabilitating and training my rescue Rottie to be a service dog I began helping others train their dogs as well (by referral only). It's been 1.5 years since my last Rottie love transitioned to the rainbow bridge and though I am not ready for another one of my own I do have the time and love to give to the pups of others. If there is anything else you'd like to know feel free to message me!

Sarah was incredible with our puppies. She was so down to earth, reliable and knowledgeable with our fur babies. I loved how engaged she was; it was wonderful to relax on our afternoon of wine tasting knowing that our pups were safe and well taken care of❤️

Wow, I just could not possibly fit all of the wonderful things I have to say about Sarah into this review. From the moment we connected she was incredibly responsive, warm, and followed up with me consistently. I have a nervous dog who can be reactive to new people and the moment Sarah entered our property my dog was immediately at ease with her and drawn to her. Some people just have a very special energy that dogs gravitate towards and that was instantly obvious with Sarah. She is extremely well-versed in training and dog behavior and walked my 70 pound pittie with ease and confidence. Sarah asked me so many wonderful and insightful questions about maintaining my dog’s schedule, routine, and training regimen to ensure that he was totally at-ease when she came to stay. She was so patient and attentive in learning my dog’s quirks and getting to know him. My dog Petey is thoroughly obsessed with her now and was treated like a total prince. She gave him so much attention, outdoor enrichment, play, and the best neck scratches and pets. It is such a blessing to be able to find someone so responsible, compassionate, and skilled with dogs who clearly loves them on a very deep level. I was able to go away feeling totally confident that my dog would be happy, safe, loved, and cared for. Sarah also took exceptional care of my home. She was so clean and neat it was hard to tell anyone was even here! Cannot recommend her highly enough. She is a very special dog whisperer 💕🫶

Sarah is absolutely amazing! We have three dogs, one with orthopedic issues, one that is quite exuberant, and one that is nervous around new people. Sarah was patient with our introduction routine, and put our nervous dog at ease almost instantly. She was also great with coming to walk the dogs a few times, to make sure things continued to go smoothly, before staying with them while we were out of town. Our pack can be a handful, which often makes it hard to feel like we can leave them in someone else’s care, but we were never worried about Sarah! While we were gone, Sarah’s frequent updates were so wonderful and reassuring. We could see that the pups were really fond of her company, even Calvin gave her some of his much-coveted attention! She handled all the individualized instructions with ease, and was great about getting everyone out during breaks in the rainy weather. She was also so attentive, noticing that our dog Charlotte’s brace was rubbing, and giving us a heads up. We can’t wait to continue working with Sarah in the future. She’s a lifesaver!
