Safety, trust & environment

While I no longer do overnight house sitting and have taken an extended break from dog boarding and dog day care services, typically the dogs in my care would have backyard time as long as the weather permits, and play time indoors. For feeding and for rest, dogs are kept separated.

Information Sarah L. would like to know about your pet

It is important for me to know whether a dog has any form of food aggression, anxiety issues, medication requirements, aggression towards other pets, and anything else that you might feel would be good for me to know. This is can include whether or not your pet is fixed, is not up to date on shots or vaccines (including flea/tick/heartworm), or anything else that might require special separation from other dogs at any time. Please NOTE - I can no longer accommodate dogs that are unfixed and or have any signs of aggression towards any other dogs in my home. This includes unfixed males with otherwise good demeanors, that might typically get along with other dogs. I can and am willing to do drop in visits and dog walks in your home for pets that need separation from other animals. This is for the safety of all pets that may be under my care.

A typical day

Depending on the pups that stay with me, a typical day will usually start with morning backyard play and feeding and potty. By noon/midday, during the hottest time of the day, the pups are usually ready for a snooze indoors. Once it is cooler out, we can go back outside for more play time and prep for supper. We are usually in bed around 9-10pm, but it depends on the pups and their individual needs. Depending on the number of dogs staying with me, I have previously taken a few pups to the dog park (with owner permission) (large dogs only for day care hours), and have also gone on walks with them, either in the park or through my neighborhood. I usually reserve these occasions for slower times when the pups look like they could use some more activity, and I only have one or two extra dogs under my care. For smaller dogs, I do not take any to any dog parks at any time. I just invested in a puppy playpen, and puppies will usually play inside the pen during inside time. Potty trained pups are allowed more freedom in the home. We can also go on short walks through the neighborhood, and occasionally have backyard playtime on the deck. My summer policy: If it is too hot for me, a girl with an average core temperature cooler than the average male (gets cold easily), it is too hot for the dog. I do my best to protect the dogs in my care from heat stroke and heat related problems.

Dedicated To Your Pet Care Needs

Pet care experience

UPDATE: Starting January 2025, I have made the decision to step away from pet sitting again. I have been so grateful for all of my clients and will miss them dearly as I move away from this line of work. Thank you for trusting me with the care of your beloved pets, and for all of your support during my time here. I intend to finish all scheduled bookings, and will be continually tapering new bookings until the end of December. Thank you again. BIO: I currently own a Siberian husky named Maya and a little Pomsky (Pomeranian/Husky) mix named Teddy 🧸 Feel free to contact me with any questions you may have for me, as well as scheduling a meet and greet if you would like. I am located in West Knoxville. I absolutely love animals and I am dedicated to providing the best care I can for your pets. I am excited to use this platform to provide pet services to those in need. Let me know of any special instructions you have for your pets and hours you may need me. I am usually quite flexible. While your dog is in my care I can send photo updates and you are more than welcome to call or text as often as you would like to to check in Please note for BOARDING, I charge per day, and not per night. This means for all overnight stays that are picked up in the afternoon or later, I will be adding a day care fee for the daytime hours your pup stays. This decision is based on my day care hours and fees. I have also PAUSED BOARDING AND DAYCARE for the foreseeable future. Thank you for your continued support and understanding! I am currently only taking dog walk and drop in requests at this time. I love all of my pup clientele and hope you will continue booking with me in the future! Thank you! I pet sit full-time from my home, and offer drop ins and walks based on availability and scheduling. Currently, the dogs' schedules are my schedule! My life is organized around the lives of the pups in my care. I do my best to ensure the safety of any pups I am watching, and it is crucial for me to know basic information about your pup so I can provide the best care I can. Examples of this information can include things like: whether or not your dog has exhibited any kind of resource guarding behaviors in the past, has any kind of anxieties, dog on dog aggressions, food allergies/sensitivities, as well as if your dog has been fixed and is up to date on vaccinations. I no longer offer boarding or day care for unfixed pets. I work hard to ensure every pup is cared for to the best of my ability, and every pup’s individual needs are catered to. Please, never hesitate to check in at any time. I am more than happy to update you on the status of your pup.

Sarah is great with our standard poodle. She always takes good care of him, and very attentive to his needs. She also snaps the best pictures of him, he must like her a lot :) thanks again Sarah!

We have worked with Sarah for a while now, and she never disappoints. She has helped us take care of our grooming appointments while we were away on travel. Super reliable!
