A typical day

As a devoted pet owner, I believe that engaging our furry friends in interactive activities is essential for their physical and mental well-being. For dogs, I relish the moments when they stop to sniff everything around them; it’s a natural behavior that not only stimulates their sense of smell but also allows them to explore their environment in a meaningful way. This engagement fosters a deeper bond between us and enhances their overall happiness. Whether we're playing fetch or playing a spirited game of tug-of-war, I appreciate the joy and excitement these activities bring to both their body and brain. When it comes to my feline companions, I’ve found that a simple feather wand can work wonders. The sight of them pouncing and leaping in pursuit of a feathery target never fails to bring a smile to my face. Coupling this playful interaction with a few tasty treats is a foolproof way to capture their affection and encourage them to play. Tailored playtime not only exercises their instincts but also strengthens our connection and enriches their lives. For my smaller pets, like guinea pigs, I enjoy getting creative with enrichment activities. Crafting little puzzles out of recycled materials, like toilet paper tubes and fleece strips, provides them with an opportunity to forage and engage their curiosity. Watching them work through these challenges is incredibly rewarding, and it keeps them mentally stimulated for hours. Providing such enrichment is fundamental to their happiness, ensuring that even the smallest of pets receive the love and attention they deserve. Through these diverse interactions, I aim to create a fulfilling and joyful life for all my beloved animals.

Pet care experience

I have pet sat dogs, cats, guinea pigs, birds, snakes, ispods, and mantises for neighbors & family on and off for the past 14 years. I have also given pets their medication via oral syringe and tablets, as instructed by their owners. One of my own pets has chronic kidney/ urinary issues so I know how important it is for them to receive the best care possible. Although I may be small in stature, my experience with dogs has been anything but limited. I've taken on the challenge of walking and agility training dogs that weigh more than I do, proving that it's not just size that matters but also heart and dedication. One of my fondest memories from high school involves creating an agility course for our neighbor's bernedoodle puppy, Lambeau. This energetic ball of fur was full of mischief, often clawing at doors, chewing on furniture, and brutally attacking his toys. Understanding his need for stimulation, I devised a series of fun challenges that not only focused his energy but also built a special bond between us. Setting up that obstacle course was an adventure in itself—using cones, tunnels, and homemade jumps, we transformed my backyard into a vibrant training ground. The best part was watching Lambeau navigate the course with increasing confidence, eagerly responding to my encouragement and praise. By using treats as positive reinforcement, he learned quickly that good behavior and hard work would be rewarded, which significantly curbed his destructive tendencies. Watching him thrive both mentally and physically filled me with joy and validated my belief in the power of training and outdoor activity as vital tools for a dog's well-being. The experience solidified my commitment to fostering healthy, happy relationships with dogs, proving that with the right approach, even the most energetic puppy can become a more balanced companion.

Sarah did an excellent job with my cat! She truly went above and beyond ensuring he was cared for the weekend I was gone. Couldn’t recommend more if you need a sitter!

Sarah is a perfect example of what a pet sitter should be like. She is kind, communicative, cautious, thorough, and genuinely cares about the job she is doing. This is my first time using a pet sitter and with having professional background myself in pet care and doggie daycare and boarding, I was hesitant to hire someone knowing that there are some people who don't take this field of work seriously. Sarah completely dissolved my worries and made me feel safe to rely on her. She went out of her way to make sure she established a relationship with my pets with a meet and greet and made sure she had all of the necessary information before she took care of my pets. It is a huge plus and a huge sign that my animals were their best selves with her. Absolutely will be using her services again!
