Engaging and loving dog walker
Pet care experience
Hello! My name is Sarah and I've had a dog in my family ever since I was young. One family dog was not enough for me, so I started my own dog walking business at the age of 12 and was walking more than 10 of my neighbors dogs on a weekly basis along with my own. Word got out, and my business spread to having over 15 clients throughout my hometown. I am experienced taking dogs, either solo or with friends, to parks or strolls around the neighborhood. Duties have included feeding and watering dogs and cats, giving medication on a timely basis, cleaning up messes, cleaning up the yard, turning on lights, locking up the house before leaving and overall leaving the animals happier and more content than when I arrived. I have a heart for dogs, and also enjoy the company of cats, and would love to help take care of your four-legged family member. The most important thing to know about a dog walker and that I want to express to you, is that I will take care of your pet as if it is my own. What does that mean? It means I don't take chances with your dog or cat. If you say your dog is not friendly with others, I will avoid contact with other dogs. If the cat needs his or her medication at 4:00pm, I will be there at 3:30 to make sure I have the dosage and medication in hand. If your animal is hurt or sick, you and the vet will be the first calls I make. I have often relied on pet sitters for my family pets while I am away or unable to walk the dog and I know the first thing I think about is does this person care for my animal as much as I do? For me, the answer is yes. I truly enjoy the company of animals and am excited to start working as a Rover dog walker and pet sitter. A little bit about my background: I have a bachelor's degree in Social Work from NYU and I recently returned from serving two years in the Peace Corps in Uganda where I worked as a Community Health Educator. While there, I spent my time teaching adolescent girls health education and entrepreneurship skills in rural schools.
