Her first experience with caring for dogs was during the San Diego wildfires when she was about 12 years old. She was instrumental in managing 10 people escaping the flames, plus pets, as we waited many days for the fires to subside. She not only cared for two very large dogs but also helped with the younger children. She was a natural. Over the years she has rescued many animals, both small and large.
