Pet care experience

Drop in service for all species

I'm an animal care professional offering dog walks and drop-in visits for dogs, cats and a wide range of other pets, including rodents, rabbits, reptiles, birds and more, all within a few miles of Cwmavon. Whether your pet needs feeding, fresh water, company while you're at work, playtime, a toilet break, medication (where appropriate), or their enclosure cleaned out, I'm happy to help. Every visit is tailored to your pet's usual routine, so they can stay happy, comfortable and relaxed in their own home. Dogs are my speciality. I'm an IMDT Accredited Dog Trainer and run my own dog training business, so I have a professional understanding of canine behaviour alongside a genuine love of caring for animals. I work with dogs every day, from young puppies to older dogs, including those who may be nervous, excitable or simply need a little extra patience. Understanding canine body language means I can recognise how a dog is feeling and adapt my approach to help them feel safe and comfortable. Whether I'm taking your dog for a walk or popping in to care for your pets, I'll treat them as if they were my own. I'll provide plenty of companionship, enrichment and fuss (if they enjoy it!) and make sure they're well looked after until you return. If you're already working on training with your dog, I'm also happy to reinforce the behaviours you're practising, whether that's loose lead walking, recall, settling on a bed or everyday manners. It's a great way to keep their routine consistent while you're away. I know how important it is to trust the person looking after your pets. That's why I pride myself on being reliable, respectful and keeping you updated with regular messages and photos, so you can relax knowing your pets are safe, happy and in caring hands.

Safety, trust & environment

When caring for a pet, my priority is to make them feel safe, relaxed and cared for while keeping their normal routine as consistent as possible. I understand that every dog is an individual, so I take the time to learn about their personality, likes and dislikes, feeding routine, exercise needs and any medical or behavioural considerations before every booking. As an IMDT Accredited Dog Trainer, I have a strong understanding of canine body language and behaviour. This means I can recognise when a dog is feeling happy, worried, overstimulated or uncomfortable and adjust my approach accordingly. I always use kind, reward-based handling and never use punishment or force. For drop-in visits, I'll ensure your dog has fresh water, meals if required, toilet breaks, enrichment, playtime, plenty of fuss (if they enjoy it!) and I'll happily reinforce any training or routines you're already working on, such as loose lead walking, recall games, settling on a bed or crate routines. I treat every dog as if they were my own and pride myself on being reliable, trustworthy and respectful of both your pet and your home. My goal is for you to return to a happy, relaxed dog and complete peace of mind while you're away.

Sarah has been an incredible support with both of our rescue dogs. She first helped us with Harold, our elderly Labrador, by teaching us to understand the reasons behind his behaviours and giving us the confidence to help him feel calmer and more focused. More recently, she's been working with our rescue Saluki, Ted, helping us understand his anxiety and build his confidence through kind, positive methods. Sarah has an amazing understanding of dog behaviour and treats every dog as an individual. She is patient, trustworthy, compassionate and genuinely cares about the wellbeing of every animal she works with. I wouldn't hesitate to trust her with my own dogs and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, knowledgeable and caring pet sitter or dog walker.

Sarah has been fantastic with my Bailey. So patient and kind even though he pulls like a mad dog on walks! Sarah really listens and I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending her to others

Sarah is incredibly trustworthy and clearly has a real passion for animals. She treated our pets as if they were her own, followed every instruction perfectly and kept us updated throughout our trip. Coming home to happy, relaxed pets was the best feeling. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable pet sitter.

Sarah cared for our two cats while we were on holiday, and she was brilliant. She fed them, refreshed their water, cleaned the litter trays and spent time giving them attention and play. She kept us updated with photos every day, and it was such a relief knowing they were settled at home rather than in a cattery. We'd definitely recommend her.

Schedule

Pet care fits naturally into my weekly routine as I work full-time with dogs through my own dog training business. This gives me a flexible schedule, allowing me to plan my day around the needs of the pets I'm caring for. I carefully limit the number of bookings I take on so that every dog or pet receives plenty of time, attention and quality care rather than feeling like they're being squeezed into a busy schedule. I always make sure each pet's routine is followed as closely as possible, including feeding times, walks, play, enrichment and plenty of companionship. I'm organised, reliable and communicate regularly with owners throughout their booking, providing updates and photos so they know their pet is happy and well cared for.
