Pet care experience

25+ Yrs Experience • WFH Dog Care

Dogs have always been an important part of my life, and I have 25+ years of experience caring for them. I work from home and share my home with two sweet, social dogs—a Pomeranian and a Golden Retriever/Husky Mix—so our guests become part of our relaxed daily routine. MY HOME IS BEST SUITED FOR: friendly, well-socialized dogs with moderate to lower energy levels who enjoy the company of other dogs. I keep my groups small so I can provide attentive, personalized care and maintain a peaceful environment. SAFETY IS ALWAYS A PRIORITY: Guest dogs must be healthy, potty trained, spayed/neutered, over one year old, and comfortable around other dogs. Dogs with aggression, severe separation anxiety, excessive barking, or very high-energy needs are generally not a good fit for my home. WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT: I’m reliable, communicative, and attentive. I’ll send photos and updates so you can relax knowing your dog is safe, comfortable, and enjoying their stay. CONVENIENTLY LOCATED: in Portland's Roseway neighborhood with easy access to PDX Airport, I-205, and I-84. DROP-OFF & PICKUP: Generally 7:30 AM–7:30 PM. Please include your requested times when contacting me. Current vaccination records are required before your dog's stay.

We’ve never left our dog this long before, and Sarah made me feel like there was nothing to worry about! She was kind, communicative, honest and offered a surety and confidence that eased both of our minds. I cannot express how happy I am to have found her. And our dog came home, happy, healthy and relaxed ☺️

Sarah took great care of our pups and treated them like her own! They made some dog friends while there, and came home very happy!

We boarded our puppy with Sarah over a long weekend on fairly short notice. Sarah was flexible in supporting our needs, very professional and communicative, and we felt 100% safe with our dog in her care. We would absolutely recommend Sarah to anyone looking for giving their pet a wonderful home and/or caretaker, and would certainly book again. Thanks, Sarah!

Sarah was a wonderful sitter! She not only provided me regular updates and is a great communicator, but she instantly connected with my (somewhat picky) dog. I felt immediately comfortable with her, and she did a great job watching him.

Schedule

I work from home full-time, so I'm home throughout most of the day and able to provide consistent supervision, regular play and potty breaks, backyard time, and plenty of attention. Because dog sitting is part of my everyday home routine—not something I fit around an outside work schedule—I can keep a comfortable, predictable rhythm for visiting dogs. I'm also able to respond quickly and provide regular photo updates throughout your dog's stay.

Safety, trust & environment

My home is set up with safety and security in mind. I have a fully fenced backyard, and dogs are always supervised outdoors. Guest dogs are fed separately, have comfortable beds for resting, and enjoy both indoor and covered outdoor spaces. We also have AC for warm summer days. SECURE ARRIVALS & DEPARTURES: To prevent excited dogs from gathering at an open front door, I handle all drop-offs and pickups at my driveway gate. Simply text when you arrive and I'll meet you outside. This keeps every dog safely secured inside during transitions. NO DOG PARKS OR OFF-PROPERTY WALKS: Guest dogs stay safely on my property during their visit. This eliminates risks from loose dogs, leash or collar escapes, unexpected dog encounters and other situations outside my control. With a secure yard, supervised outdoor time, play and doggie companionship, there is plenty to keep our guests happy, comfortable and entertained at home.

Pets

A typical day

Our days are relaxed, social and predictable. Dogs get regular supervised backyard and potty breaks throughout the day, along with time to play, explore, socialize or simply lounge and nap. Because I work from home, I'm nearby throughout the day and can give everyone plenty of attention while still allowing dogs to settle into a normal home routine. Rather than a busy daycare environment, I aim for a peaceful "home away from home" where friendly dogs can enjoy companionship, a secure yard, and lots of downtime between play sessions.

I'd love to learn about your dog's personality, routine and what makes them happiest! Please also tell me about any quirks or behaviors I should know about, including allergies or special diets, medications, separation anxiety, barking, prey drive, door darting, escape attempts, or counter-surfing. MY HOME IS A GOOD FIT FOR DOGS WHO ARE: • Over one year old and spayed/neutered • Healthy and current on vaccinations • Potty trained and able to sleep through the night • Social and comfortable around other dogs • Familiar with basic commands • Free of any history of aggression toward people or dogs Because I host a small social group in my home, dogs with severe separation anxiety, excessive barking, aggression, or very high-energy needs are generally better suited to a different care environment. WHAT TO BRING: Your dog's food and any medications. I provide beds, blankets and toys, so there's no need to pack those. Current vaccination records are required before your dog's stay.
