A Hidden Oasis

Pet care experience

I’ve grown up with animals and cared for them my whole life. Ever since I was young I’ve been involved in pet care, learning from my mom in training and grooming, then continuing on further than I ever anticipated. I’ve raised multiple litters of puppies from day one to adoption age, and from puppyhood on. I’ve muzzle, leash, potty, and crate trained dogs, in addition to obedience and standing for grooming. I currently own and operate an animal rescue where I take care of upwards of 50 dogs of all ages on a daily basis. Since opening the rescue I’ve become even better at reading dog body language, introducing new dogs to each other, crate training, and socializing feral/fearful and abused or neglected dogs. If needed I am also comfortable administering oral or injectable medications. I’ve had some basic training on wound care, injectable medications, and drawing blood from vets and vet techs.

I will definitely rebook with Sarah! We felt comfortable leaving our dog there for the first time. She sent updates and videos/pics everyday and everything went smoothly. It also helped that our dog had other dogs to play with in a fenced backyard. Would definitely recommend her! Thanks Sarah

We were very nervous leaving our dog, Moose anywhere as we never left him anywhere before for longer than a day. We took a 5 day trip and left him with Sarah. We instantly felt he would be okay learning her experience with dogs! We are very grateful to have found a trustworthy sitter. We recommend and would definitely be booking again in the future.

Safety, trust & environment

I keep my dogs and my rescue’s dogs kenneled when I’m not home so no one is ever at risk of fights or running out the front door when I get home. The back yard is fully fenced with a 6 foot privacy fence. Because I have the rescue, I keep a ton of dog supplies on hand for any possible situation. First aid and more advanced medical supplies are all on hand, I have tons of brand new dog toys, food, medications, kennels, etc. my dogs and your dog will never go without the absolute best care they can receive. Even though the yard is fenced, I will always be outside with your dog to keep an eye on them for safety in my play groups. All my dogs are dog friendly and they range in age from 7 months to 7 years and are all pretty playful since we lead a rather active lifestyle. If your dog would prefer alone time, that’s no problem either. I’m totally comfortable rotating groups of dogs if need be.

Information Sarah F. would like to know about your pet

Please let me know if any special needs or behaviors your pet needs accommodated. I’m willing to work with pretty much any temperament of dog, just know that I do keep dogs crated when I’m not home for the safety of all the dogs.

A typical day

The first thing I do when I get up in the morning is let out the dogs and feed them. Once they finish breakfast we go out again for supervised playtime until everyone is good and worn out. Then we go back inside for a nap. There’s also a wonderful trail close by that hardly ever has other people around and we take the pups for a walk there, up to 5 miles if the weather is nice and the pups are enjoying themselves. Early to mid afternoon I let the dogs out to play and potty again for awhile, then around 6-7 pm the dogs have dinner and go out for another potty break before bed between 9-10 pm. The rest of the day we usually just hang out, I might go run some errands. But the dogs are almost never alone.
