Safety, trust & environment

At the moment my pup and I live in an apartment without a yard, so we do not offer boarding. However, while watching your pup I will take every opportunity to offer them exercise or enrichment, inside or out. I want to get to know both you and your pup so that I can your pet exactly the care they need. All the time they spend with me should be full of enrichment, excitement, and exercise! I believe that even walking a pup around the park or learning a new game is either an excellent learning opportunity for a new puppy, or a reason to get up an exercise for an older pup.

Information Sarah C. would like to know about your pet

Please let me know if your dog has any health issues that are of concern. This includes any allergies or history of injury or arthritis for older dogs. Before or during our meet and greet I will also need to know if your dog has a history of any negative experiences with humans or other dogs (such as at a shelter) that may impact their behavior during our visits. If you are scheduling for a puppy, I would also ask that you include their age, and what vaccinations they have received, as well as whether or not they have been spayed or neutered.

A typical day

I find that every pup has something different that gets them super excited. Maybe its a golden retriever that can't get enough attention and pets, a bulldog who wants to play tug all day long, or a shepherd who wants to chase a ball until they're worn out. I try to use toys, games, and teaching them a few new tricks, too find out if a pup is motivated by play, attention, or something else, in order to work with them on their terms. I find this is the best way to keep dogs excited to see me each time, and to help ease any separation anxiety or nervous energy that might be pent up while their parents are away.

Pet care experience

I am a local student, working on starting a career in animal care and looking for opportunities to work with all kinds of pups and pets. I have over a year of experience working as a Shift Manager a Doggtopia Doggie Daycare location, and have extensive experience socializing, training, and working with pups of all different sizes, shapes, and histories. I am also able to provide basic animal medical aid, some grooming, and dog socialization and training. I also have a variety of experiences working with shelters and the animals there, including cats and exotics. I am able to give care and enrichment to puppies and senior dogs alike, and attentive care to pups with special needs or medical issues.

I had the pleasure of working with Sarah for a little over a year at Dogtopia in Lake Oswego. Sarah would take such incredible care of the dogs at our daycare. Wether she was giving spa services, coaching a room of 40 dogs or caring for the nighttime boarders, she was aware of every detail. Dogs respect and trust her much more quickly than others. She has a genuine love for all dogs. Sarah keeps a watchful eye for health issues and is very thorough in everything she does. She is trustworthy and honest and I couldn’t think of a better person to care for dogs!

Sarah is an amazing dog trainer! She helped me and my Blue Heeler, Bear, really learn how to understand each others signals. She just speaks dog in a way I still don't understand! Both my dogs love her and get so excited when she gets to come visit. You can't find a better dog-sitter/trainer!

I would highly recommend Sarah to anyone who is looking for a pet sitter and wants to have a kind, capable, responsible, and knowledgeable person to care for their pets. They have watched my two puppies for the past year and been absolutely awesome. They have a sixth sense when it comes to caring for dogs, and the experience to handle even the most rambunctious pups. Sarah is super reliable and you'll love working with her just as much as your pet does!

Sarah was absolutely incredible for my girl Kida! Kida is a 7 month old German shepherd/husky who had some isolation anxiety and couldn't be left alone during the day. Sarah was able to watch her and Kida loved it! She got so excited to see Sarah and wiggled with excitement outside of her door every time we came by; Sarah did a great job of gently encouraging positive habits while providing an engaging environment for a young high energy dog. Would absolutely recommend her to anyone in need of a caring dog lover to keep an eye on their pup!
