Availability
Typically I book jobs Monday-Friday or vacations/weekends in advance. We are a moto family which means that we travel/camp a lot of weekends during the year which makes my availability not work for some. I always keep my calendar updated so scheduling is accurate. I have a few families that I repeatedly work with but always happy to welcome more 😁

Safety, trust & environment
I have great communication skills & will update you with plenty of pictures and details while with your pet. My dogs are 60lbs & 80lbs so I am able to handle large breed dogs. It offers peace of mind if their ID tag and microchip is current. On certain Mondays & Fridays, I will be offering dog outings to our favorite places like Crowders Mountain, Rankin Lake, Dallas Park or the Lincolnton Rail Trail. At my home, I have a gate on my front and back deck for the dogs as well as a fenced in backyard. We have a large crate & small crate and ability to keep animals separate if need be. Compatibility with my animals will determine how much free range your pets have in the house and yard, but we allow pets on the furniture and in the bed and treat them like family while here!
Information Sara S. would like to know about your pet
Before going in public, I like to know a dog's typical comfort level with other people, specifically children and dogs. I have experience with reactive dogs. I would love to schedule a meet & greet before our first service so we all can get comfortable together. I want you to feel relaxed and trust your furbaby is in good hands!
A typical day
Dogs deserve to live their happiest lives and it is no doubt that walks are often their favorite part of the day. I try to walk a minimum of a mile with my fur friends to ensure that they have burned some energy. My favorite places for dog walks are Crowders Mountain, Lincolnton Rail Trail, Rankin Lake and Dallas Park. Where we go will depend on the reactiveness and leash training. Playing is also another big part of our routine & I enjoy playing fetch, tug-of-war, and teaching tricks. I use treats and toys for mental stimulation so your pup gets the most out of their time with me.

Pet care experience
My journey into pet care started with volunteering & fostering through the shelter. I really enjoyed helping the senior dogs & anxious dogs who needed help coming out of their shells so it felt right to try pet care, which I have now been working for the last couple years. This has been the best job I have ever had and I deeply love what I do. On top of the experience I have with working on Rover & with the shelter, I also have my own personal pets. There is our cat Kai who was found in a car motor as a kitten, our bunny Boo Boo who lives his absolute best life after being found on FB marketplace, my mixed herding breed dog Blue who was adopted from the Lincolnton shelter and his sidekick Ember, who was adopted from the Gaston County shelter. We recently adopted a lab named Ruby & she has quickly stolen our hearts. I grew up in an animal loving household and have always been around a variety of pets including dogs, cats, birds and guinea pigs. I have experience with handraising kittens, chickens and ducks. My favorite rescue/foster was a senior Treeing Walker Coonhound named Mountain Man that I saved from a terrible condition. He lived the rest of his life with us happy & loved but passed away at the end of 2024. I keep him on my profile just so people can still see his cute face.

Sara's loving care with my cats let me go to Raleigh and see Noah Kahan with my daughter without worrying about them once! Thanks as always!

Friendly with dogs, trust worthy
Sara came through on a very last minute request and still scheduled a meet & greet beforehand. She was very thorough and attentive to our babies and our home. Our very shy pup warmed to her quickly and that put our minds at ease while away.

Sara was absolutely fantastic! She took amazing care of my babies and treated them like family. She kept me updated with photos and messages throughout the stay, which gave me so much peace of mind. It was clear my dogs were happy, comfortable, and well cared for. Sara was reliable, professional, and genuinely caring. I wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again, and I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy pet sitter. Thank you, Sara, for taking such wonderful care of my furbabies!
