🐾 your pets new BFF 🐾

🐾 Hi! Welcome to my profile! A little bit about us and why we started looking after dogs… Dogs have been a huge part of my life since I was five years old, when my nan finally gave in to my very persistent requests 😂 and got me my first dog, a Miniature Toy Poodle called Boe. I later had my little Shih Tzu, Gucci — full name Gucci Louis Boe O’Brien (because apparently Gucci alone wasn’t fancy enough 😂) — who was my best friend for just over 14 years. He really was the absolute best ❤️. Sadly, Gucci passed away a few years ago. After losing him, my partner and I started looking after dogs for friends and family while they were away. We absolutely loved having dogs around the house again but we are not ready to have a dog of our own, but why not use this as a way to save up for our wedding back in October 2025. We had recently got engaged at the time, so in July 2023 we joined Rover as a little side hustle to help us save for our wedding — turning something we genuinely loved into something useful. What started as a side hustle has turned into something we genuinely adore. We’ve been incredibly lucky to have lots of regular dogs return to us, and one of my favourite things is building relationships with both the dogs and their pawrents. It’s lovely seeing a dog recognise us, run up to us excitedly and settle straight back in as though they’ve never been away. ❤️ 🏡 What your dog’s stay with us is like Our biggest priority is simple: we want your dog to feel safe, relaxed, loved and at home. I think all the dogs have a good balance as I always say I am the one that gives all the lovings and my husband is the one that runs around and places with them 🤣. I know every dog has their own personality. Some will happily climb onto your lap within five minutes of meeting you, while others need a little more time and space. That is absolutely fine and so I never force interaction or overwhelm a nervous dog. I let them explore, sniff around and approach us when they’re ready. It seems to work pretty pawfectly — sorry, I really can’t stop 😂. We have experience caring for a various type of dogs, from energetic puppies to senior dogs, as well as anxious and timid dogs and dogs with additional needs. My own Shih Tzu developed several health problems as he got older, including losing the sight in one eye, so I also have personal experience caring for older dogs and dogs requiring medication or a little extra attention. ❤️ Home from home Whether your dog is staying with us for daycare or boarding, we try to keep their routine as close as possible to what they’re used to at home. That includes their usual feeding times, walks, toilet routine, medication where required, playtime and — perhaps most importantly — plenty of cuddles if they’re a cuddly dog! If they’re allowed on the sofa at home, we’re very happy to have a little sofa companion. If they have particular habits, favourite games, funny little quirks or a bedtime routine, tell us! The more we know about them, the easier it is for us to make their stay feel familiar. There will be walks, playing, relaxing, cuddling and generally being treated like one of the family. We especially love seeing nervous dogs come out of their shell. There is something so rewarding about a dog arriving unsure of us at first and then, a few hours later, finding them curled up next to us asking for cuddles 🥰. 📸 You won’t be wondering what they’re doing! I know how strange it can feel leaving your dog with someone else, so we send regular photo and videos (pupdates) throughout their stay. Although Rover may show a lower percentage for our updates, that’s simply because we often exchange contact details with owners for emergencies and send additional photos and videos directly — particularly as it’s much easier to send longer videos that way. So don’t worry: you certainly won’t be left wondering whether they’re okay! 😂 You’ll usually get plenty of little updates showing you what they’ve been getting up to. 🐶 Ultimately… I want your dog to have the best time possible while they’re with us. Yes, we make sure they’re fed, walked, safe and properly cared for — but I want it to be more than that. I want them to enjoy coming here, feel comfortable enough to completely relax, and hopefully get excited when they realise they’re coming back. I like to think of it as their own little holiday while you’re on yours. 🐾❤️ And if they leave us slightly more spoiled than when they arrived… I can only apologise in advance. 😂

From the moment I dropped Rufus off I felt 100% reassured that Rufus was in safe hands. Both Sara and her partner made a huge fuss of him and I could see that he loved them instantly. I left feeling happy that he would be very well cared for and he really was. They were so helpful and flexible and sent me lots of pictures and videos. It was the perfect experience and I can’t recommend them enough.

Schedule

I am lucky enough to be able to WFH most days and my schedule is flexible. I do not work on the weekends and have no prior commitments, therefore our sole attention is on the pets we look after. We also never leave any dogs we are looking after. Therefore, hosting a pet is pretty easy and fits in with our daily routine. At work, my hours are flexible, and so I organise my workload around both the pet I am looking after and my partners schedule.

Safety, trust & environment

We have no children or other pets, it is simply just me and my partner. Therefore, our sole attention will always be on your pet. This is also why I do not accept two bookings at the same time, unless the pets are from the same household or they have become regulars and I know that it wouldn’t cause any issues for either pet. As a previous pet owner myself, this is how I prefer it. Even if you allow your dog off the leash, I would personally keep them on the leash at all time whilst in my care. This is because your pet might respond to you on recall, but I can appreciate we will still be fairly new to them, and therefore might not be so responsive to us. Also, I take my responsibility seriously, and you have trusted me to care for your pet in your absence, and so their safety is absolutely paramount at all times whilst in my care.

A typical day

A typical day is largely determined by the needs of the pet we are looking after. We live a 15 minute walk away from Hampstead Heath Park, Primrose Hill and Kilburn Park and so we like to go there for there for their 'big walk' during the day/evening. Also, if we think your pet needs further stimulation, with the permission of the pawrent, we use a lick mat and kong in which we put treats provided by the owners - but we do also appreciate their own enrichment exercises, toys and games to be packed by the owner ideally. I also put various dog films on in the background as it often catches the attention of my fury friends, such as 101 Dalmatians which seems to be an absolute hit. We live in a flat, but we have quite a long hallway and so we play fetch. With treats, I like to place them all around the flat so they can go on a little scavenger hunt :).
