Caring Pet Visits by Retired RN
Pet care experience
I’ve spent over 25 years caring for animals—fostering and adopting puppies, dogs, kittens, and cats, and working with a number of rescues and shelters here in the Denver area. I have experience with many different breeds, personalities, and ages, and I always aim to provide care that’s as unique and special as your pet. I’m a retired RN and bring that background into my pet care as well. I’m comfortable administering medications, including oral meds, injections, and subcutaneous fluids, and I’m attentive to any changes in behavior or health. You can feel confident that your pet is in capable, caring hands. I provide drop-in visits, dog walking, and overnight visits. Being retired, I have a flexible schedule and am usually available during the day to give your pet the attention and care they need. We recently said goodbye to our sweet dog Aspen, who brought so much joy and fun to our home for 12 years. She was a foster whom we adopted at 10 weeks from Life is Better Rescue. She was the kind of dog who loved to play and helped me connect with so many wonderful pets and their people. Her memory continues to guide the compassion and love I bring to every visit. Whether your pet needs a potty break, medication support, a walk, or just some companionship, I’d be honored to help.
Reviews

Sara was wonderful with Mo, I could tell they were going to have a great visit as soon as she walked in the door and met him for the first time. She asked great questions and is experienced caring for different dogs. Very respectful and left our house spotless. Highly recommend. Much less stressful for our dog than the kennel. Thanks, Sara!
I've known Sara for 35+ years. We were RNs in an emergency department together and the compassion and care that Sara gave her patients was like no other! Not only did she give extraordinary care, but she was thorough and very detailed in her communication and her charting. Just as she gave compassionate care to patients, I have witnessed firsthand the compassion and love she gives her animals. I have gone to Sara's many times over the years while she was out of town to house/dog/cat sit. Her animals get better care than some people's children! She provides top of the line food, healthy snacks, regular medications and her dog, Aspen, would get walked every day and sometimes twice a day. Casey's litter box is cleaned every day and she receives healthy food, plenty of toys and is also part of the family. I always said that when I go to a home, I leave it better than I found it. At Sara's, it was hard to do because it was so clean and neat to begin with! All of this to say, Sara is trustworthy, reliable, an excellent communicator, and extremely caring!! Anyone would be grateful to have someone like Sara to care for their home and furry family!
Sara is truly exceptional. She has cared for both my dogs and cats, and I trust her completely. She’s always on time, professional, and incredibly attentive to the health and well-being of every animal she looks after. It’s clear that she genuinely loves what she does—my pets are always calm and happy in her care. I can’t recommend her enough to anyone looking for a dependable, compassionate, and skilled animal caregiver.
Sara provides both a structured and loving environment for any animals in her home. From the almost one hundred fosters to her own pets, Sara cares for each one with abundant love. She has the perfect set-up for her animals--lots of outside and inside play space. Sara will make your pets feel like they are on vacation, too. And you can't get much better than that.
