Experienced with reactive dogs. With a lifetime spent caring for dogs, cats, and more, I bring years of hands-on experience and am highly observant of animal behavior. I have skills for working with reactive dogs of all temperaments and training levels. Whether your pup is well-managed and needs their training reinforced, or is still learning to navigate the world, I meet each dog where they are. I understand that reactivity isn’t a choice, and I approach every dog with patience, compassion, and a focus on building their confidence and comfort. I also consider it my job to set your dog up for success, by being mindful of avoiding triggers. As a fellow pet parent, I know firsthand how hard it is to leave your loved ones at home. My own journey with Gibson, my reactive rescue and soul-dog, taught me the importance of reliability, trust, patience, and empathy in pet care. Safety, trust & environment
Having had some stressful experiences with pet care as a pet parent, I am (maybe neurotically) concerned with your pet and property’s safety. First and foremost, I follow your directions. Beyond that, safety and security are paramount. If your pet has any special needs or issues that may require extra vigilance in their supervision or care, please alert me in advance. I have experience with escape artists, and fearful animals whose visits begin with a calm game of “hide and seek.” I had a ten-page care guide for my pet, so please don’t be shy in sharing information and direction that sets me up for success with your pet’s care.

Sara was so loving and patient with our scared and skittish girl. Was super communicative as well and sent several adorable photos along with status updates. It is a great relief to know our dog was in capable and very loving hands while we were away. Highly recommend!!
Sara has become our go to dog sitter and we couldn’t be more pleased. This time we were out of the country so she sat for our dog for 11 days. we had tremendous peace of mind knowing our dog was in her care. she has formed a great bond with our dog and we know he is having a great time when he’s in her care. she provides regular updates, leaves our house nice and clean, and handles our dogs quirks like a true pro. thank you Sara!
We had an all day wedding and Sara came by to take out dog on a nice long walk and feed him dinner! she waited for him to finish eating and gave us a nice detailed report

Schedule
I am generally available midday and after standard working hours (with some morning slots available by special request). I set my own work schedule, so can ensure that your pet receives prompt care as scheduled. I’ve become overly sedentary since my own walking buddy passed away. I can provide leisurely and patient walks for pets who prefer that, and I can also provide energetic and vigorous walk/jogs for more active pets.
