Every pet has their own routine, and I do my best to maintain it while they're in my care. Whether your pet enjoys active play, leisurely walks, or simply lounging nearby, I tailor each day to their individual personality and energy level. I currently work part-time outside the home, but my schedule is intentionally arranged around pet care. Throughout the day, your pet will receive regular potty breaks, supervised playtime, enrichment, exercise, plenty of affection, and opportunities to rest. I also provide regular photo and message updates so you can enjoy your time away knowing your pet is doing well.

Safety, trust & environment
Your pet's safety and comfort are my highest priorities. I provide care in a calm, home environment with a fully fenced backyard, baby gates for flexible separation when needed, and thoughtful introductions between dogs. I believe every pet deserves an environment that matches their personality. Some dogs enjoy having a playmate, while others are happiest relaxing on their own—and that's perfectly okay. Our resident pets include: • Benny, our friendly German Shepherd/Border Collie mix, who enjoys meeting new dogs but understands that not every guest wants to play. • Cricket, our tiny 6-pound Chihuahua mix, who generally prefers to quietly observe from a distance. Every once in a while he'll decide another dog is his new best friend—and if that happens, they've definitely won the lottery! Because every pet is different, I supervise interactions closely and adjust the environment to help everyone feel comfortable. My goal is never to force interactions, but to create a positive, low-stress experience for every guest. For first-time boarding and daycare guests—particularly larger dogs or adolescent puppies—I may recommend a Meet & Greet beforehand to ensure my home is the best fit for everyone.

Information Sara H. would like to know about your pet
The more I know, the better I can care for your pet. Before booking, I'd appreciate you taking a few minutes to review my profile and let me know if you have any questions. Honest communication helps me prepare for a successful stay and ensures there are no surprises for anyone. Some helpful things to share include: • Your pet's daily routine • Feeding schedule and any dietary restrictions • Medications or medical conditions • Experience with boarding or daycare • How they interact with unfamiliar dogs, cats, and people • Any history of resource guarding, separation anxiety, escape attempts, or other behaviors you'd like me to know about • Favorite toys, games, or comfort items • Anything else that helps your pet feel safe and comfortable Every pet has their own personality, and my goal is never to judge them—it's simply to make sure I can provide the best possible environment for a happy, safe stay.
A typical day
No two dogs are exactly alike, so no two days look exactly the same. Some guests love spending time exploring the backyard, playing fetch, or wrestling with Benny. Others would much rather curl up on the couch, soak up some sunshine, or quietly follow me around the house. Whatever your dog's personality, I strive to make them feel like they're part of the family. Throughout the day, pets enjoy supervised play, enrichment activities, potty breaks, neighborhood walks (when appropriate), fresh water, scheduled meals, and plenty of opportunities to relax. I also send regular photo updates because I know how much peace of mind they bring while you're away. Whether your pet is spending the afternoon with us while you're out to dinner, staying overnight during your vacation, or simply relaxing while you explore Southern Oregon, I want them to feel safe, comfortable, and loved.

Pet care experience
I have over 14 years of experience caring for dogs and cats of all breeds, sizes, ages, and personalities. My background includes lifelong pet ownership, kennel work, veterinary shadowing, and professional pet sitting through Rover. I am comfortable caring for energetic puppies, senior pets, dogs requiring medications (including oral and injectable medications), and pets with special routines or needs. My goal is to provide a calm, structured home where every pet feels safe and comfortable. I understand that every dog is different—some love to play, while others simply want a quiet place to relax. I tailor each stay to your pet's personality, energy level, and routine whenever possible. Safety is one of my highest priorities. I carefully supervise introductions, monitor body language and stress signals, and use separate spaces, baby gates, and crates (when appropriate or requested) to ensure every pet has a positive experience. I believe thoughtful planning and honest communication create the best boarding experience for both pets and their owners. My husband Andrew and I work together to provide attentive care, which means there are two experienced adults available for walks, playtime, supervised introductions, potty breaks, medication administration, and lots of affection. I don't believe every dog is the right fit for every environment—and that's okay. My goal is to ensure every booking is the right fit so every pet can have the safest, happiest, and least stressful experience possible. Whether your pet is staying overnight, spending the day while you're exploring Southern Oregon, or simply needs a safe place to relax while you're out to dinner or attending an event, I strive to treat every guest like a member of our own family.
