Remington home for hounds!
I grew up outside of Pittsburgh, and when I was younger, my family had a golden retriever named Beau. He was one of the most loyal, fun dogs, and he showed me how loving dogs can be. Since Beau, my family has always had a dog in the house, mostly hounds. I relocated to Baltimore in 2014 and I am an ELD teacher in Fallstaff. We found our lovable hound-mix in 2020. He is now 6-years-old. I have a small fenced in yard for dogs and the area is very walkable with a lot of green space near by. Please contact me if you are in need of a sitter in the Remington area. Why I love dog sitting: I grew up around dogs, so they've always been a part of my life. In second grade, I even responded to a "what do you want to be when you grow up" prompt stating I wanted to be a dog. I believe having dogs around helps with health and happiness. About my yard: The row home has a small back yard that is completely fenced off. My experience administering medication: I would be comfortable giving a dog pills, as long as there are proper instructions provided and any pro tips the owner can give.

Sara was absolutely wonderful! While my family was out of service to receive messages, we did receive the ones she sent when we returned to service! I was so grateful for our meet and greet! It looked like my dog had a fabulous time at Sara’s house while we were away!

Schedule
More about my schedule: I am a teacher during the school year in Baltimore City and I work from around 7am to 3pm. During summer and school breaks, I have more flexibility and I am home more often. We also have a 1-year-old in the home. He loves animals so far, but we would need to watch only dogs that are very tolerant of small children.

During the school year on weekdays, I am home in the evenings and can provide walks, feeding and playtime. I can also do a quick walk in the mornings before school. On weekends, I have more free time to hang out with your pup and make sure they feel comfortable while you are gone! My dog, Chewy, stays home and can keep your dog company while we are out or at work. Chewy loves company!

A typical day
Here's where we'll take our walks: I live on Cresmont Ave, near the Hopkins undergrad campus in Remington. The area is very walkable. I often go to Wyman Park Dell to walk around. Your dog's sleeping arrangement: As long as the dog is allowed, I don't mind having dogs sleep in my bed. Otherwise, I would expect the owner to provide me with a dog bed or crate, which could be kept in my room. Time I'll spend with your dog: I would be able to take a dog for a quick 15-20 minute walk before work, and of course, for a longer walk in the evening. I will be able to spend the rest of the evening after work with a dog. On weekends, I maybe will go out for a couple of hours with friends or to run errands, but a dog on weekends won't have to spend more than 3-4 hours alone. Chewy and I love visiting Wyman Park Dell in the afternoons after work to play with the other dogs, and your dog can join us there too! During the summer, I do not work, so I would be able to do 2 longer walks in the morning and afternoon.

- There's a special place in my heart for beagles, and any kind of hound dog, but I am open to meeting any type of dog. Before sitting a dog, I would like to know about a dog's routine, temperament and favorite food or treat. And if there are any specific rules the dog is expected to follow in the home, like being on furniture, barking, etc.
