If you have dogs, cats, birds, ferrets or any type of pet, I can help take care of them when you are away and unable to feed, exercise, let out for potty break, administer medication and other services. Or, if you are homebound and need help with pet care such as getting your pup out or cleaning cages or litter boxes, I am available to help with walks or shorter drop-in visits, whichever works best for you. I have had dogs in my life for 35 years. I currently have two 13-year-old pups. I am very relaxed around dogs and they can sense it and usually come to me easily. The shy ones take a little more work but they warm up to me quickly. I can read a dog's demeanor and adjust my approach accordingly. I'm a dog nut and will stop to pet other people's dogs whenever possible. I am a volunteer at Anderson Animal Shelter in Elgin and helped with training Leader Dogs for the Blind. I'm a pretty active person so I could give your pup a pretty energetic walk if they are up to it. Also, I am able to handle bigger dogs. I love cats too. I grew up with kittens and cats until my teens. A member in my family developed an allergy to cats so, after our last cat passed away, we were unable to bring them into the house. We thought it was a better choice than getting rid of the family member. :-) I would love to meet your fur-babies and not-so-furry babies.
