I’m Sandy — an animal-loving sitter with 30+ years of experience caring for dogs and cats. Pet sitting lets me combine my love of travel and animals while giving pets lots of love and their owners a completely worry-free vacation. I’ve spent decades involved in Pomeranian rescue, performed home checks for Little Paws Rescue, and most recently was a flight angel bringing two pups from Mexico to their forever homes. I’m especially good with seniors, shy animals, and pets who need a little extra patience and attention. I work part-time remotely, so your pets get plenty of company throughout the day. I’m a non-smoker with a peaceful, easygoing demeanor. I enjoy quiet hobbies like reading and yoga — which helps create a calm, relaxing environment for the pets I care for. I’m clean, respectful, and will look after your home as if it were my own. 🐾 Optional: I share my life with a gentle, well-socialized Pomeranian named Sable. She gets along well with both dogs and cats, and is fully housetrained, friendly, and easygoing. If you’re open for her to join me, she makes a sweet, low-maintenance companion — but she’s just as happy staying at home if you’d prefer a pet-free sit. References available. *Sable's reference: She was a therapy dog at the last dental office I worked at. She helped calm nervous patients, especially children. This speaks volumes about her character.

Safety, trust & environment
While you are away, I will treat your home and pets as if they were my own. My priority will be to keep your pets comfortable, happy, and on their normal routine while also making sure your home is safe and well cared for. Pet care will include: Feeding your pets according to their regular schedule and instructions. Providing fresh water every day. Giving medications or supplements as directed, if required. Making sure they receive their usual exercise, playtime, attention, and companionship. Keeping litter boxes, food areas, and other pet areas clean. Watching for any changes in their behaviour, appetite, or overall well-being and contacting you if I have any concerns. Sending you updates and photos so you know how your pets are doing while you're away. Home care will include: Keeping the home clean and tidy. Bringing in mail, packages, and newspapers. Taking garbage and recycling out as needed. Watering plants according to your instructions. Following any instructions for heating, lights, security systems, or other household routines. Making sure doors and windows are secure when I leave. Letting you know right away about any maintenance issues or unexpected problems. I will respect your home, privacy, and belongings and will do my best to leave everything in the same condition as when you left. Most importantly, I want you to be able to enjoy your time away knowing that your pets are safe, cared for, and receiving plenty of love and attention.

I cam highly recommemd Sandy, who looked after our pets (dog, cats, fish) for a week, with such love, care and attention. We are most grateful for the level of care she gave to all of them, but especially our rescue pup, Emi (Miss Emi as she fondly named her). Being a rescue dog she does have some anxiety, but in all the photos and videos Sandy sent, Emi seemed to not have had a care in the world. This was evident as well when I returned home. Our house was spotless, and everything was just as we had left it.
Sandy and her husband were the flight angel for my two pups I adopted from Salty Dog rescue in Mexico. They took the time to visit and meet the girls before the flight so that the pups would be more comfortable. Sandy was so good with the girls, I got as many updates through their travel day as possible. She sent pictures before the flight and the girls looked relaxed for puppies on the biggest adventure they’d ever had. When they landed in Calgary there was an issue with customs with the girls paper work that took a few hours to sort out. The whole time Sandy was calm and kept the girls and me calm with updates for me and snuggles for the girls. I would absolutely let Sandy look after the girls again if we lived closer.
We had such a great experience with Sandy. She was amazing with our pets, especially with our blind special needs pup. She was very caring and patient and really took the time to make sure all of our instructions were understood. She communicated well, shared lots of updates, and left the house tidier and cleaner than when we left. We would love to have her back and would highly recommend her.
Sandy communicated efficiently & effectively before the sit which allowed me to feel confident about our arrangement. She arrived as pre agreed, and both my 8 y.o. cats became quickly comfortable with her. Sandy is gentle & kind & went out of her way to see our pets well loved & cared for. She sent me photos & snippets of life with my cats which I appreciated. Sandy took great care of our home; she was very independent. Sandy also communicated independently and effectively with the sitter who took over the sit from Sandy as pre agreed. She said of Sandy, “The transition was seamless; Sandy left the house spotless and the cats happy and content.” I would ask Sandy to house and cat sit for us again, and I would be happy to recommend her to friends.
Sandy stayed with Izzie for three weeks while we went to Europe. She was a fabulous caregiver for our Izzie and took great care of our house. It was evident that Izzie had a wonderful time with Sandy. Upon our return Izzie was a calm, happy dog and clearly quite attached to Sandy. Her communication with us was great both before and during our trip. Sandy sent many photos and we exchanged texts about their outings. It was so nice not to have to worry about our pup while we were on vacation. We really hope that she will return to us for another Izzie sit.
