Having shared my home with more than 30 dogs of my own, I have fostered close more than 50, most recently senior, special needs, and medically fragile dogs. I also transport rescue dogs once a month from Texas to Utah. If you have dogs with special needs, medical issues, or healthy dogs, I'll take care of them with skill, patience, and love.

Boarding or Day Care: While I'm happy to take all dogs over 25 lbs, I have an affinity for large, XL, and giant dogs. My home has XXL dog doors, dog beds, and 3 acres of fenced yard.

Information Sandra W. would like to know about your pet
There are a lot of things I'd like to know about your dog - fears, energy level, bad and good habits, health issues, risks such as fence-jumping or digging, triggers, and how they get along with your other pets. I also want to know the good stuff! What makes them happy, what motivates them, what silly things they do! Please also let me know what commands they know, if any.
A typical day
Depending on the needs of your dog, I love to play with them by throwing the ball, playing tug of war, hide-and-seek, and any other fun activities they might be used to. Of course, snuggling, walking, grooming, and long conversations are always included! One of my newest pack members is a very active adolescent shepherd mix. She loves to play! I spend time throughout the day trying to keep her engaged and active, but she loves having playful visitors who will wrestle, explore and play chase with her.

Pet care experience
I’ve lived with and cared for dogs all my life. In fact, my mother used to throw fits when she'd wake to find that I'd snuck out of my room at night to sleep in the dog house with the hounds!
Reviews
Sandra is wonderful. She took care of our fur baby for a week. I would definitely recommend her to my friends.

Groot loves spending time with Sandra.

Sandra was wonderful with Groot. She is so easy to work with and she is a true animal lover. I am so thankful we found her.

Sandy was phenomenal. I got an instant good vibe from her when we met for the meet-and-greet, which was reinforced as she asked insightful questions about each of our 5 pets. She not only beat me to everything I wanted to share about the furry family, but she even asked about some things I hadn't even considered. It was obvious that she has a wealth of experience caring for a variety of dog and cat personalities, and that she pays close attention to the details. We left our three dogs and two cats in her care while backpacking in the Pecos Wilderness for 3.5 days. It was a little unnerving working with a new person for the first time when we would be completely out of communication, but Sandy's interactions with everyone during the meet-and-greet and her responsiveness before we left were so positive, I was confident leaving everyone in her care. We returned home to 5 happy, well-fed critters. Sandy also left a note going over everyone's behavior while we were gone, making it clear that she spent quality time with them and cared enough to report back. With one dog a recent addition to our family, we left her with a lot of special instructions, such as feeding the dogs separately, keeping one dog away from the cats, different day/night routines for 2 dogs compared to the third, odd requests for a persnickety cat, and special care for one geriatric dog. She handled all the chaos swimmingly! I would 100% recommend Sandy to a friend, and will book her again when I need a dog/cat/house sitter.
