I work in an office full time M-F. Lucky for me, my office is a mile away from my home so I'm able to come home at lunch to let dogs out for a potty break. I do give your pup lots of attention when I get home and I love taking pups with me wherever I go (if possible). If your dog has separation anxiety or needs someone home full time during the day, I may not be the right sitter for you. If your dog is used to you being out of the house during typical work days, then I may be a good fit since me going to work would be their normal schedule.

Information Sandra M. would like to know about your pet

Since I sit for pet replacement, I am picky about the sits I accept. Typically take only 1 family at a time. Preference to well mannered, low shedding, non-destructive, potty-trained dogs. Must be past chewing / digging / property damage period and know basic dog manners. I like a clean, well kept home and no "accidents" please. All doggie guests should be up on the shots and flea prevention treatment. Please inform me of any food allergies, medications, temperament, etc... I require an in-person meet and greet before committing to any dog sit. I feel it's important for us to both feel comfortable prior to committing to a sit.

A typical day

I don't have kids, so dogs became my K9-Kids :-) I bend my schedule to make sure the dogs in my care are happy and engaged. I believe in structure and consistent rules. What is a yes today will always be a yes.. and a no will always be a no. I've learned that love, structure, calm voice, exercise and consistent rules are the key to a well adjusted, calm and happy dog. Your dog will be well cared for and taken out and about town as much as possible when I'm out and about. (Yes, Lowes lets you bring dogs shopping!) I know several dog friendly cafes too! Play time in the backyard and walks in the neighborhood or beach trail. Snuggles and belly rubs when evening TV couch time happens. Feel free to ask me more!

Pet care experience

I work M-F outside the home, 5 min away; but come home at lunch for an hour for potty breaks. Also, I book sits outside of the Rover so Rover calendar not always updated. ** 100% of clients get daily photos/texts sent to pet parent. Daily rate $75/dog. "Solo dog stay" with no other dogs allowed for $125. Discount for Boston Terriers! Hi! My name is Sandra. I love dogs and have had them and taken care of my friends dogs almost all my adult life! When my sweet Boston Terriers passed away, I turned to dog sitting to get puppy love! I enjoy taking care of my existing (and new) friend's dogs! I also do Travel Sitting! So, that being said I don't have a resident dog now. Since I had a special needs dog (cancer) for a few years, I am comfortable giving medications. I live in a great dog-friendly home with a large fenced backyard. I'm fine with dogs on my bed at night and OK if the dogs prefer the floor/crate. I try to power walk the San Clemente beach trail several times a week and happy to take your dog along if they are strange dog friendly. I'm great about following your "dog rules" .. With dogs, I know consistency is everything! No people food? ... no dogs on couch? .. dogs on couch? crated when I leave? no crate OK too ...as long as they don't do damage when I'm out. :-) Tell me the rules and I will make sure it happens :-) I'm not at home full time. On M-F, I work a half mile from my home; so I'm able to come home at lunch time for puppy time and potty breaks. I include a daily walk (at least 1 mile+) for all my K-9 guests. A tired dog is a happy dog! Since I leave my doggie guests home alone while I'm at work, I prefer to take 1 family of 2 dogs but will also combine 2 pup-friendly guests. When I have pups from different families, I can either crate or gate them in separate rooms for their safety when I leave the home or until the pups become great friends .. which has happened with many of my regular guests. :-) Posted pricing is for a 24 hour period. If your drop off/pick up exceeds 24 hours, we can discuss a partial day fee. (Please note Rover's "marketplace fee" is included in my visible pricing so I don't get all of what you see) Rover then adds booking fees. Willing to cap the stay at 1 dog only for a single dog up-charge. Please ask! Feel free to contact me if you have any questions. ***

Sandra was amazing with our newly adopted dog. He’s an anxious one and we had never left him, but she took the time to get acquainted and he had a delightful day with her. She even gave us some great insight on some of the ways he was responding and what we should do to curb those behaviors. Will definitely be using her services again!

Lola had the most wonderful time with Sandra and received the best care and love. We would trust Aunt Sandy as we would our own family. Lola will be back!!

This was our first time booking with Sandra and she was the perfect choice. She kept us well informed during his stay and we didn't worry for a minute that he was anything but well cared for. Highly recommend!

Sandra is my dog's best friend (besides me!) and he absolutely LOVES staying at her place. I never have to worry when he is with her because I know he is in the best possible hands. Sandra is everything you want in a sitter / person - friendly, warm, genuine, attentive, thoughtful ,the list goes on. She's the best and I am so happy we found her.
