I’ve known Samuel Merkatz since my freshman year of college, and we were also roommates during junior year. Over the years, I’ve seen firsthand how caring, responsible, and attentive they are not just with people, but with animals as well. I’ve lived in spaces with both cats and dogs over the summers in Maine and during college, and Sam has helped me care for them many times. They have always been incredibly gentle, patient, and naturally comfortable around pets. My cat, Jelly bean gravitates toward them because they create such a calm, loving, and safe environment. Sam is someone I trust deeply. They are dependable, communicative, and genuinely thoughtful in the way they care for others. I have consistently relied on their support with my pets and would feel completely confident leaving animals in their care. I have no doubt they would provide safe, loving care and excellent customer service to any pet parent using Rover. Any pet and pet owner would be lucky to spend time with them.
