Availability
We’re available for housesitting at and time but we do prefer earlier/daytime arrivals as it allows your pup/s to get acclimated while they are awake and alert. I work from home with a flexible schedule, which allows me to give our doggie guests plenty of attention and regular outdoor breaks, around Layla's activities. My daughter goes to school or camp during the day, but she enjoys walking and playing with our dog clients before and after school/camp, always under my supervision. Together, we make sure your pup feels loved, engaged, and part of our family routine. I also provide daily photo and message updates, so you always know how your pet is doing.

We walk your pup/s on a leash at all times unless we have access to an enclosed yard. Generally, we prefer to crate overnight especially if this is your first time using Rover for dog sitting, but we can adapt as needed. Your pup will spend most of their day outside of their crate but perhaps, contained in a part of the house (e,g, watching tv in the sitting room or hanging in the kitchen while we prepare meals). We will try our best to incorporate their usual routine and preferences whenever possible. For puppies, we prefer to crate/contain in confined area.

We want every doggie guest to have a happy, comfortable, and safe time with us! Please share any special needs, preferences, routines, or quirks your pup may have—it helps us care for them just like you would. We have experience caring for puppies, seniors, and dogs recovering from illness, as well as administering pills or liquid medications. Before your stay, please upload or send a photo of your dog’s vaccination records (especially rabies) through the app. For safety, we ask that all guests wear a collar with an name tag in case of an unexpected escape or emergency. When preparing your pup for your Rover housesit, please include: Leash and poop bags Food and treats (we only feed what you provide to avoid tummy troubles) Medications or supplements Hygiene supplies (if applicable) Dog bed or blanket Calming chews (if your dog uses them) An item that smells like you—such as a t-shirt—to comfort them during separation, if needed Our goal is to make every sit feel like any another day at home—tailored to your pup’s needs and personality. 🐾
A typical day
We take our doggie guests on several walks each day and most of our past clients mentioned that their dogs got more exercise with us versus at home. We know that a well-behaved dog is one who has used his/her energy with regular exercise. Meal times follow each dog’s usual routine—most eat once or twice a day—and we make sure they always have fresh water available, especially after walks. For playtime, we use any available dog toys for fetch, tug, or gentle play indoors. Some pups love to romp and explore, while others prefer extra cuddles—and that’s perfectly fine too! Those dogs get cozy lap time with us while we watch TV or work from the computer. At night, most of our guests sleep comfortably on their own dog bed in their crates but we are flexible.

We live in Colombia, South America for the school year and return home to the US during the summer and other school holidays to attend summer camp and visit friends and family. We are able to housesit small and medium dogs for one family at at time. My journey as a dedicated dog caregiver began with my own Pomeranian, Chewy, who was part of our family for over 12 years. Through every stage of his life—puppy training, routine vet visits, managing health issues like dental care and kennel cough, and eventually learning the nuances of senior care—I gained invaluable hands-on experience. I understand how to provide attentive, compassionate care while maintaining structure and safety. Beyond my personal experience, I’m deeply attuned to dogs’ moods and behaviors, always alert to changes that might signal discomfort or illness. I also understand what pet parents look for, having used doggy daycare, boarding, and dog parks extensively myself. My daughter Layla, who grew up alongside Chewy, shares this same love and intuition for dogs. She’s a gentle, responsible helper with a natural ability to make dogs feel safe and loved. Together, we’ve cared for many neighborhood pets, and thanks to Rover, we’ve extended that care to families across our community. Layla likes to say our “superpower is love”—and that really sums it up. We offer your pups a safe, affectionate home away from home, where they’ll be treated like family every single day.

Samsara and her daughter, Layla, were absolutely fantastic with Oliver. As we drove up, Layla came toward the car and you could see her excitement and enthusiasm. It was comforting to know that my dog was going to be in a home which truly appreciated dogs. I hate this is my last time Otto and I will see Ms. Samsara and Layla. Their house with them.is his favorite place (to include home with me). Otto got extra rou d the clock hugs and cuddles. I never worried about him when he was with them. I just worried if he would want to come back home. We will truly miss you. It will be hard to replace you.
