Pet care experience
Winston & Friends — Cozy Boarding
I have been caring for animals since childhood and have always had pets throughout my adult life. Animals have always been a big part of my world, and caring for them comes naturally to me. Pet sitting allows me to provide the love, attention, and consistency I would give my own pets.

Samara was very responsive and an excellent communicator. She was open to a meet and greet prior to the scheduled dog sitting. Her home was very nice and set up well for dogs. I have zero complaints and we'll happily use her again.

Schedule
Pet care fits really naturally into my daily routine since I work from home full time. I’m home most of the day, so dogs are not left alone for long and get plenty of attention throughout the day. My schedule is pretty consistent, which makes it easy to stick to feeding times, potty breaks, and whatever routine your dog is used to. I can also adjust my day around their needs, whether that is more frequent potty breaks, playtime, or just a calm space to relax. On the occasional times I do have to step out, like a short errand or family activity, I make sure all dogs are safely set up. If they are crate trained, I will crate them. If not, I use gates to keep everyone separated so they stay comfortable and safe.

Home characteristics
Safety, trust & environment
I run a pretty calm, structured home, but also one where dogs are treated like part of the family. Most of their day is spent hanging out, playing, and getting comfortable instead of being stuck in a kennel environment. Safety is a big deal to me. I pay close attention to personalities and never leave dogs from different households alone together unsupervised. If I need to step away or can’t watch them directly, I separate everyone using crates or baby gates depending on what they’re used to. I take the time to learn each dog and what makes them comfortable. Some want to play all day, some just want a cozy spot and a nap, and I adjust to that. I also follow your instructions closely so their routine stays as normal as possible. If I’m doing drop ins, I’m respectful of your home and make sure your pet is comfortable in their own space. You’ll always get updates so you know how they’re doing, because I know how important that peace of mind is.
Pets
A typical day
A typical day here is pretty relaxed and based around the dogs. We usually start the morning with potty breaks and a slow start, then ease into the day with some playtime or just hanging out. Some dogs love to chase a ball or play with toys, and others are perfectly happy finding a cozy spot and watching everything going on. Since I’m home most of the day, there’s a lot of interaction throughout the day. Whether that is playing, getting pets, or just being near someone, they are not stuck in a kennel or left alone. They tend to get a little spoiled while they’re here. I also have a toddler, so there are little hands around that love to help, always safely and supervised. Because of that, I only take dogs that are comfortable around children. I keep a close eye on energy levels and personalities, so playtime stays safe and not overwhelming. If dogs need breaks, I make sure they have a quiet space to relax. In the evenings, things wind down with more outside time, dinner, and then getting everyone settled in for the night. I try to keep things as close to their normal routine as possible so they feel comfortable while they’re here.
