Information Samantha W. would like to know about your pet

Behavioral issues are important for me to know ahead of time. As are any significant medical issues. This way I can be fully prepared for the pup and to make sure I am equipped to provide the specific care they need.

A typical day

Walks are a big part of my care, if the dog is in a healthy enough state for such activity. I personally don’t walk hard with my dogs, I like to meander, let them sniff a lot as this is an extremely healthy activity for them. I enjoy varying the routes, making sure to constantly keep their brain engaged and interested. Indoor time involves lots of tummy rubs, brushing and a friendly game of tug if they have a good rope they enjoy.

Pet care experience

I’ve always wanted pets since I was a kid. When I was 10 I got my first dog, a Saint Bernard named Barry. I’ve been nuts about dogs ever since. That grew into a love for all animals, and I have owned horses, cats and dogs over the last 20 years. 10 years ago I accepted a job at an equestrian facility. That opened the door to my first ever pet sit and since then I’ve worked all over the area. I took a break for awhile, due to my schedule becoming to full with other commitments, now I’m back ready to accept some new clients. Obviously our pets are a huge part of our lives. I do not take that responsibility lightly. When I come into a home I bring my heart and passion to the job to make sure the animals under my care feel comfortable, safe and as smoothly adjusted as they can be to someone new in their environment. I have worked with pretty much every dog you can think of. Rescues with timid personalities, small pups, giant breeds. And hard work does not put me off, I most recently spent two weeks rehabbing a German Shepard who had broken her leg. This is not a normal situation but I mention because this happened two days prior to this client leaving. There was very little time to plan and adapting on the fly was necessary. And that’s what I can do, provide a solid plan of care but also think on my feet if the situation arises. I look forward to the conversations to be had here and the new pets that I will meet.

Samantha did a great job watching Charlie. Charlie is a special needs senior dog and Samantha did an excellent job of making him feel comfortable. We will not hesitate to use her again to watch Charlie.

My pups took to Samantha immediately upon meeting her! Given that one of them can be real standoffish with people, we were shocked! Both of them sensed that she truly was a dog person and immediately bonded with her. She's mature and reliable and kept up wonderful communication with us throughout our trip. It gave us so much peace of mind seeing them. So happy in the pictures and knowing that they were being loved. Highly recommend she will be our first person we go to for future bookings.
