I am a full-time grad student, so my schedule is much more flexible than a 9-5 worker. That said, at the moment I can only take care of pets who can be alone for at least four hours at a time during the week because of my class schedule (weekends I'm more flexible).

I'm also disabled by long-COVID and take many COVID mitigations (still masking), so I'd be safer for immunocompromised clients. For drop-in visits and popping into your home for a dog walk, I will be masked. For pet sitting overnight, I'm always happy to take a COVID test—just let me know!

A typical day
When taking your dog for a walk (within their and your comfort zone) I will be sure to take different routes so that your pet gets a new adventure every time we are together. My preference is to check out parks if there is one nearby!

Pet care experience
I've taken care of family dogs, both large and small, since around age twelve. In high school I also cared for a bird, as well as part of my adulthood. In early adulthood I worked for three years as a professional dog handler and dog walker for a company in New York City. I am accustomed to reading dogs body language and keeping them safe and feeling secure. I've lived with cats in more recent years and have consistently been hired to cat sit for neighbors. I am comfortable with elder pets, administering medications, and helping anxious pets feel more comfortable at home and out in the world. I also have some experience with smaller mammals (rabbits, guinea pigs, domestic rats) as well as some farm animals.
Reviews
I did not have a positive experience booking house sitting with Samantha. She rarely sent any updates and only sent one photo late at night (if that), and most updates and communication between us had to be prompted by me. Even when receiving any communication back, it would take at least 6+ hours to get a photo of my cat, which I think is weird since she had said she was a graduate student that works from home and would have no problem spending most of the day with my cat most days. If she was actually there at all during the day, why didn't I receive any daytime photos?? Especially when I asked for one? When I asked about this she said she was out doing drop ins with other peoples animals. So nice of her to provide updates and photos to others but not to me. When I brought up my disappointment to her i was told that most pet parents "trust her and are fine without updates unless she has a question or concern", even though that's 1), not what we discussed and 2) not what her bio or reviews indicate at all. I actually ended up trusting her so little I ended the booking early and had to hire another sitter. She gets 1 star for keeping my cat alive. Since I'm not exactly sure what else she did I can't give any stars for anything else.
Samantha was great with our shy cat! She gave her lots of attention to help our cat warm up quickly. She is super responsive as well. Would highly recommend booking her!
Samantha was awesome! She did a great job taking care of my cat and always gave great updated and pictures.
Sam spent an evening with our cats. I came home to two very happy, calm kitties. Sam was superb with communication and very attentive to all the details of caring for two 14-year-olds.
