Please let me know if your pets have any allergies or illnesses that I should be aware of. I love to love on animals - but not all of them like that! I totally get it and just want to be aware ahead of time. Please let me know if you have any house rules that I should follow while visiting. I prefer to do meet and greets ahead of time but I understand that’s not always possible and can be flexible. I will usually bring my husband on my first visit alone/ until I am comfortable in a space. Especially if the visits are at night. If this doesn’t work for you that’s fine, but perhaps a different sitter would work better for your needs.
A typical day
When I go for my first visit, I typically try to complete all of the necessary tasks first before hanging out with your pet. Things like filling the water bowl, cleaning litter boxes, and serving wet food. That way, they have a little time to get comfortable with me being in their space. After that, I judge the comfort level of the pets to see what my next move will be. If they are scared of me I will generally talk to them and just hang out near them. I also will get out the treats if your cats are super food motivated. If they are super friendly we will play with whatever toys are available and I will give a lot of pets! My main goal is that your pets are as comfortable as possible while you are out of town. I do not want to upset them by trying to move too quickly or love on them too much. I just want them to be happy!

I have had cats my whole life and a dog during my childhood. I have dog sat for my neighbors and have volunteered with the Champaign County Humane Society as well as CATSNAP, a cats-only rescue.
