Samantha can care for
Availability
I work from home and have a very flexible schedule, which allows me to provide care for your pets throughout the day. I’m happy to work with owners to find a routine that works best for both you, myself, and your pet. I have a car, so I can travel easily to nearby homes without relying on public transit. Your pet’s comfort, safety, and happiness are my top priorities, and I’m always available to communicate updates, photos, or check-ins so you can have peace of mind while you’re away.

About Samantha S.
Communication
Safety, trust & environment
I have used Rover as a pet owner myself, so when it comes to caring for a pets in my home or a client’s home, I provide the same level of service I expect as an owner and client. I know how important clear communication, updates, and peace of mind are. I treat client homes with the same respect I would my own, ensuring pets and spaces are well cared for in every way. Boarded pets in my home have a separate floor to themselves, kept apart from my own animals to ensure a calm, stress-free environment. For dogs specifically, I have a large, securely fenced yard for supervised outdoor play, as well as a 36"x24" crate for those who are crate-trained.
Information Samantha S. would like to know about your pet
Please let me know your pet's age, how long they have been with you, medical conditions, medication details (dosage, delivery, etc.), allergies, and preferred vet information. For dogs specifically, please tell me about their comfort with new people and other animals, any triggers they have, potty schedule, feeding schedule, exercise and play routines, crate training, commands they know, and favorite toys. For cats, please provide information on their comfort with new people, their personality and social habits, whether they experience separation anxiety, any stressors they may have, favorite toys, favorite hiding spots, and their comfort level with brushing and pets.
A typical day
For dogs, exercise and enrichment are just as important as feeding and routine care. I like to take dogs on long walks that include plenty of stops for smelling new things or playing with toys if that’s what they enjoy. I adjust activities based on each dog’s energy level, age, size, and breed. Cats all have their own personalities, so I change activities accordingly. For playful cats, that can means playtime with toys like feather wands and balls to give them exercise and enrichment. For cats that are more reserved, I adopt a quieter style of play, brushing, or simply sitting with them.

Cat Care in Southeast DC
Cat care experience
I've loved cats my whole life, and caring for them brings me joy and fulfillment everyday. I have four cats of my own and I occasionally foster with the DC SPCA, which has given me experience with cats and kittens of all ages and temperaments. Every cat is different and I know how to find the right balance of enrichment and companionship depending on each cat’s personality. I offer drop-in visits for feeding, litter box cleaning, and check-ins to ensure your cat is happy and comfortable while you’re away. I’m also confident with medication delivery (including for my own cat with epilepsy) and cats that are especially timid. Boarding Boarded cats have the option of enjoying an entire floor to themselves, giving them space and quiet away from my own pets. If another pet is being boarded at the same time, cats can also stay in the cozy guest room/home office. I’ll provide tailored care to keep them safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away.
Reviews
Samantha was a joy to meet and to work with. She was prompt and friendly and Lady was not shy about walking with her . I would highly recommend her and would definitely request her services again in the future. The extra bonus was that she was very conveniently close by.

Samantha took great care of our cat, Billie, while we were out of town over the holidays. Very reliable and a great communicator. Thanks!

Samantha took great care of my cat Cody! She gave him lots of attention and sent us pics while we were out of town. She also helped us resolve a non-cat/home related issue when we weren’t home. Would trust her to take care of my cat and home anytime!

Samantha was amazing! Tag was well taken care of.
