Family Home for Friendly Dogs

I’ve grown up with dogs all my life, and for the past 11 years my family and I cared for our own much‑loved Cavachon, who we sadly lost a couple of months ago. We raised her from a puppy, so I’m very familiar with early training, building routines, socialisation, and helping a young dog grow into a confident, well‑behaved companion. As she got older, we also managed her medication and adapted her routine to keep her comfortable, so I’m confident handling day‑to‑day care that needs consistency and a bit of extra attention. Over the years we’ve also looked after dogs belonging to family, friends, colleagues and neighbours. From Springer Spaniels and Dalmatians to Labradors, Cockapoos and Terriers. We have a large enclosed garden and a spacious open‑plan home where dogs can play, roam or rest depending on what they enjoy. My husband and our two children (aged 6 and 9) adore dogs. We love heading out for beach walks, woodland adventures and coastal paths together. The children are gentle, respectful and understand when dogs need quiet time and space. We aim to create a relaxed, predictable environment where dogs feel safe, settled and part of the family. Please get in touch if we can help, and feel free to share as much information as possible about feeding routines, temperament and anything else that helps us make their stay perfect.

Highly recommend Samantha! Samantha has looked after our labradoodle, Luna, many times at her home, and we couldn’t be happier. Luna always settles in so well with her and comes home happy, relaxed, and well cared for. Samantha is reliable, attentive, and clearly loves dogs — she treats Luna like one of her own. It’s such a relief knowing Luna is in a safe, comfortable home environment rather than a busy kennel. Communication is always clear and reassuring, and we never have to worry. We trust Samantha completely and will continue using her every time we need care. Thank you, Samantha!

My dogs were so loved and cared for when staying with Sam and her family. Regular walks, games and snuggles with updates and photos throughout. I genuinely believe the dogs would have happily stayed for longer! Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend nor use Sam again when my dogs need looking after.

Schedule

Pet care fits naturally into our weekly routine. I’m currently at home during the day, and over the school holidays I’m with my children, so there’s always company and plenty of attention for visiting dogs. My husband also works from home a lot, which means dogs are rarely left alone and can enjoy a calm, consistent environment. We’re used to planning our days around dog‑friendly activities, beach walks, coastal paths, and relaxed weekend outings, so it’s easy for us to build a dog’s routine into our own. Whether it’s regular walks, playtime, or just having someone around, we’re a family who genuinely enjoys making dogs feel part of our day.

Safety, trust & environment

We have a large, fully fenced garden where they can explore and play securely, and our home is set up so dogs can be part of family life without feeling overwhelmed. Our children (aged 6 and 9) have grown up around dogs and are gentle, confident, and respectful, they love to play, but they also understand when a dog needs space or quiet time. We live close to woods, coastal paths, and dog‑friendly beaches, so walks are varied and enriching.

A typical day

I love making each dog’s stay feel like a little holiday. Depending on what they enjoy, we’ll go on beach walks, explore woodland trails, play games in our large enclosed garden, or have cosy cuddle time indoors. For high‑energy dogs, we’ll do plenty of fetch, sniff‑and‑search games, and enrichment activities to keep their minds busy. For calmer or older dogs, we’ll enjoy gentle strolls, relaxed garden time, and lots of affection at their pace. My children also love joining in with supervised play, from throwing a ball to reading quietly beside a dog who prefers company without too much fuss. Whatever your dog loves most, I’ll tailor their activities so they feel happy, stimulated, and completely at home.

To make sure your dog feels completely safe, happy and settled in our home, it’s really helpful to know a few key things in advance. I like to understand their daily routine, feeding schedule, temperament, and any quirks or behaviours that might need a bit of extra attention. It’s also important to know how they are with children, other dogs, and new environments, as well as any medical needs, allergies or medications. Details about their favourite activities, comfort items, commands they respond to, and anything that helps them relax will also make their stay smoother. The more I know, the better I can tailor their care so they feel right at home.
