Generally just need the dogs schedule, info on how to access property and any pertinent health or behavioral issues especially dealing with: -medication, dosage/instructions -any recent injuries -gut issues -bad allergies -any situations, sounds, or actions that are known to cause them stress? -do they need a muzzle or any type of equipment other than collar/harness/leash?
A typical day
We love a good hikes or desert walk. We also enjoy the occasional dog friendly patio with my dog, Mylo. It really just depends on the animal's overall fitness, socialization and training level so I adjust accordingly. There will be plenty of exercise and enrichment!

Pet care experience
For as long as I can remember I've loved animals and have been genuinely interested in learning about them. I grew up having lots of pets and have a wide range of care and management experience with various species including: dogs, cats, birds, rodents, some reptiles, fish, horses, and other livestock. In 2010, when I first moved to Vegas, after many years of riding and horse keeping- I became a full time horse trainer and ranch manager in Northwest LV. During my early 20's I also apprenticed with several horse and dog trainers, getting my start in a few different horse and dog sports. In 2013, I completed a small animal veterinary assistant program (AS) from Animal Behavior College and following internship at a local vet clinic to further my education, but continued to work privately for clients as I am much more interested in the behavior aspects. I continued riding and training, volunteering countless hours with L.E.A.N (las vegas equine rescue network) and Paradise Ranch horse assisted therapy, as well as a few other local smaller programs for horses, dogs, and even cats. During those years I periodically helped teach various dog sports and obedience classes, as well as taking my own continuing education classes separately. I recently moved back here from a few years living abroad so I am looking to expand my client base again! This my 16th year of professional animal training and management. I'm an experienced behavioral consultant for dogs and horses. I use gentle, effective, ethical handling methods backed by modern research that do not involve the use of applied punishment as a teaching tool. I feel very strongly about compassionate care, training and daily management and am at a high level of hours in both animal science education and practial experience. Most animals I've handled appreciate my very gentle approach and clear understanding of their signals, and I have never met one I didn't genuinely like. Their safety and comfort is my top priority. *any training services I offer are completely separate from Rover and unrelated to the services I provide here. If you are interested in behavior modification plans it will need to be discussed separately/privately.
Reviews

Sam was an outstanding house sitter and took wonderful and attentive care of Bear my female German shepherd. She was knowledgeable and more than respectful with our home. I will definitely be booking her again! ♥️
Samantha has been a friend of mine for almost 12 years. She is an expert trainer of horses and dogs. She has demonstrated a knowledge and expertise about the Health and Care of both horses and dogs that has extensive and based on not only her years of experience as a dog owner, but research and tutelage by some of the leading practitioners of the veterinary sciences. No one I know is more qualified to take care of your precious pets than Sam.
Sam is by far the most qualified person that I know to ever handle any animal. She has watched and helped me with my dogs, cats, and horses. She is easily the most patient and loving pet owner and that easily extends to any animal she comes near. Honestly, she gets along with the animals the best, as some of us just do. Outside of her empathetic nature, she has dedicated herself to studying animal behavior and doesn’t limit herself to just dogs. Her knowledge and understanding of animal behavior and empathy combined create an unbeatable ability to keep herself and any animal she is with safe and healthy.
Sam has been so amazing with my fur babies! She has pet sit for me when I had cats and currently provides dog walking services for my dog. She is reliable, punctual, trustworthy, and great at interacting with animals and treating them so well. My dog is large and can be very excitable, anxious, and sometimes standoffish and she is phenomenal with him and understanding his needs. He absolutely loves their walks together! She has nearly two decades of experience working with animals as well as training them. I’m so thankful for Sam and how great she has been with my fur babies over the years!
