Samantha P. cancelled a booking 1 day before it was scheduled to begin.

Samantha was great with my cat and turtle while I was away. She kept me updated, communicated well, and I came home to happy pets.

Samantha took excellent care of my dogs and cats. She made sure to send photos everyday and promptly replied to my messages. I felt confident that my fur babies were well cared for while I was on vacation.

Samantha was great! We had to book last minute, and she was super responsive. She also took photos of them throughout our trip which I loved. Would definitely book with her again!

I leave 1 star because this sitter did respect my puppy but did not respect us as dog owners, did not uphold her refund policy, scammed us, and violated rovers policies. I didn’t want to report her but had to because she stole $300 from us and said she did everything right. And I trusted her because of her star sitter status and reviews. And just don’t want others to have the same experience we did because it was horrible and criminal. Initially, I requested the 5th-13th for our booking. She asked me if we could call and chat off the app and so we did. In that call she asked if I could pay her half of the full price via Venmo so she could save in taxes and save us in taxes. I fell for it and agreed- my mistake. So then she changed the rover dates to make them show only half the pay and I paid her the other half on Venmo. With her changing the dates I was in a vulnerable spot because it said now the 5th-12th. So I asked her to change it bc we don’t fly in until the 13th. and she said she can just keep it the 5th-12th but stay the 13th since I paid all 9 days and paid her for the 13th. We continued with the booking I felt weird and slightly uncomfortable but she had good ratings/reviews so I trusted it would be okay. She then started upselling us and trying to get more $ from us via Venmo by needing more dog toys, gas $ to get there, etc. she also asked me if she could just friends at our house while we were away and that made me feel super uncomfortable. I told her I did not feel comfortable with that and that we would not be buying more toys or paying her gas etc. she did not like that and called us bad dog owners. She then told me via personal text messaging that she will be done on the 12th. I told her no I paid up until the 13th. She said I didn’t and that if she stayed to the 13th I would have to Venmo her $75 more. I told her first of all that’s your holiday rate not puppy rate. Second, I have text proof that you agreed to stay the 13th because I already paid for all 9 days including the 13th. She did not like that and then denied it. We called her and showed her our messages and what she agreed to, then at that point she said sorry it was a mistake and I forgot and you did pay me the extra day already and I will stay until the 13th. At this point I was so stressed out and was feeling super uncomfortable with this whole booking and sick. By this point she was watching our pup for 2 days we were in and out of service in a cruise, I was very stressed out and couldn’t even enjoy our trip. I was worried about our house. I was worried about our puppy. I did not trust her at all. So I requested to cancel the booking and get a refund. We found a better sitter and ended up having to pay more to get another sitter. Then she cancelled the booking and rover issued half our refund from what we paid on the app BUT of course she did not uphold her end and pay us 50% back from what we paid her on Venmo. It was sickening how badly she scammed us and refused to pay us back and have integrity on her end. So we lost $300 that we should have gotten back but only got half of that back when total we paid over $600. I even sent her a screenshot of her refund policy that she chose on the rover app as a sitter that states after you book if you cancel you should recieve 50% back instead of 100% back. And we only ended up getting 25% back from what we paid through rover. So lost a lot of $ and had to spend more $ for a more honest better sitter. Was a horrible experience and she just fought us the whole time and called us bad dog owners for only have 2-3 toys for our puppy. Very disrespectful and assumption and rude and unprofessional and criminal what she did to us. So if you book with her just be weary. This has been my honest experience of this girl. Sadly.

Sam kept our baby doggie safe while we were gone. We missed her so much & loved getting all the pics and updates while we were out of town 🥰
