Mel has a incredibly calm, gentle energy that dogs are naturally drawn to — she's the kind of person a shy or anxious dog will walk straight up to. Together we make a pretty great team. I'm available mostly during the day and prefer drop-in visits. I gravitate toward calm, gentle dogs who enjoy relaxed company, cuddles, and just being present with people who genuinely adore them. Your dog won't just be checked on — they'll be cherished. I've been caring for dogs for 25 years — practically my whole life. Starting around age 10 I was already responsible for my own dogs, and over the years I've had anywhere from two to seven at a time, spanning every stage of life from energetic puppies to gentle seniors. What I hear most often is that I have a way with animals that's hard to explain. Dogs that are fearful, anxious, or notoriously indifferent to people tend to seek me out anyway. I don't force it — I just make space, and they come. That's been true my whole life. My daughter Mel has six years of her own experience and has a completely natural, unhurried way with dogs. She's the kind of company a dog actually wants — calm, present, no agenda. Just two friends sitting together. Between us, we've handled it all — training, health issues, behavioral quirks, end-of-life care. Dogs in our care are never just managed. They're genuinely enjoyed.
