I work in a before school program at a public school during the day, and as a freelance classical musician at night. My evenings tend to vary week to week, which tends to give me good flexibility and availability to look after pets.

I live in an apartment in a great, family friendly area of Brookline. There are multiple dog parks nearby, as well as walking trails. I’m able to take a dog outside as frequently as necessary since I work on an independent schedule from home.

I love to know the silly things about your pet—any favorite toys they might have, streets they hate going down, certain windows they like to birdwatch from. As the pet parent, you know them the best! There’s no such thing as too much information.
A typical day
If I’m watching a cat, I tend to let them run the visit. I’ll get a read of them to see if they want to play, want some love, or a mix of both! If I’m watching a dog, I love going for walks, or throwing a ball around. I always feel accomplished leaving a sleepy dog behind!

Pet care experience
My family has always had cats and dogs, so I’ve been looking after animals my whole life. In college I started fostering cats, and also spent time volunteering as a dog walker at my local shelter. I adopted my own cat Freddy during grad school and absolutely love him. I have experience with dogs of all sizes and temperaments, as well as shy, friendly, and semi-feral cats. I also have experience administering medication, liquid and pill.
