Availability
Most weekdays I'm available to drop in to homes prior to 2pm, but this can change due to the needs of in home daycare or dogs I'm boarding. Feel free to inquire about whatever services you need, I'll do my best to work with you! If you board with me the routine for my dogs is always the same- they get fed right around 6am and 6pm, with bathroom breaks immediately after, and then as needed throughout the day. Walks (if requested) usually occur around midday, with occasional trips down to the River Valley (a mile from my house) if the weather is nice enough to explore the nature preserve. After dinner I try to make sure everyone is comfortable enough to wind down for the evening, but we can still play indoors if we need to. Dogs are welcome to sleep in crates or in our own bed, as long as there's room!

For drop-ins or dog walking services, I'll always bring my own first aid supplies (styptic powder, liquid bandage, tick removers, hydrocortisone spray, gauze etc.) and if none are provided, I have cleaning supplies for accidents as well. If your pet is allergic to any cleaners or first aid products please let me know. I'm always respectful of clients homes and privacy, and am happy to send you a picture of your pet during an appointment for full transparency, whether I'm walking your dog or babysitting them! I also totally understand if you have cameras in your home, I do as well. If you board or book a daycare service in my home, please know I have 2 "medium" "pittie" mixes- (they're just mutts with less hair) Panda is 5 and a beagle mix (50lbs F/S), and Peanut (60lbs M/N) is about 15 and a boxer mix. Panda is incredibly well socialized and LOVES fetch. Peanut is socialized but is very much an old man who prefers to sleep on the couch... like all the time. They've each had numerous foster brothers and sisters of all sizes, and are e-collar trained, so behavior on their end should never be an issue for your dog. I have a split level home that can securely board multiple dogs, and house them depending on their needs. I also have a fenced in deck, but not yard, though we have about a 1/4 acre lot in a quiet residential area and are working on making a dog run! Any boarding dog would be taken out to potty on a leash, preferably with a harness provided by the owner. I have a crate large enough for most (80lbs~) big dogs, but I'd still recommend bringing your own if possible. The only other person present in my home would be my husband, who possibly loves dogs even more than me(?) and is always happy to play with them! I'll never have strangers or children present in our home while your pet is staying with us.

Information Samantha D. would like to know about your pet
If your pet has issues with resource guarding (toys or food) they would probably not be the best candidate to board in my home. Depending on the severity, some exceptions can be made. If your dog is not neutered, or is in heat, I cannot board them. Please make any allergies or medical issues known prior to requesting services.
A typical day
Fetch is always on the table! I have a fairly large living room downstairs that has become Panda's playground over the years, with enough space to throw a ball no matter the weather outside. I'll always have a variety of balls, nylabones, and rubber toys on hand, all of which have passed the Panda chew test. I also have lick mats (I use peanut butter or freeze some Kefir) and treat dispensing toys. For daycare or boarding dogs, the daily routine is basically: Breakfast (meds if needed) Potty Break Cuddle time Play time Potty Break Lunch if required (meds if needed) Potty Break or Walk Cuddle Time Play Time Dinner (meds if needed) Potty Break or Walk Cuddle Time Play time Bedtime (meds if needed) We DO NOT play for about an hour after meals to avoid upset stomachs and other serious issues.

Pet Care Professional
Pet care experience
As a former Kennel Supervisor, Kennel Attendant and Certified Pet Care Professional, I've got years of experience working with pets both in private homes as well as boarding/daycare facilities. I'm super familiar with dogs, but have also cared for more cats than I can remember- and even some rats! I was previously certified in Animal (canine and feline) CPR through the Red Cross as well as trained in basic diagnostics for medical emergencies. I'm comfortable administering various medications to both cats and dogs, including oral, topical, and intravenous medicine. I've cared for kittens, puppies, dogs of every size, temperamental animals, and quite a few senior dogs and cats. Special diets and or feeding rituals are just fine with me, every animal is different. I'll be the first to let you know if I don't think I'm the right fit for your pet, but I'm always willing to do a meet and greet with a client. Other than drop-ins to feed, water, change litter boxes and play for awhile, I walk dogs (weather permitting) and can potentially board canines in my home if they get along with my own pups. *I can pass a background check and provide references upon request*

Reviews
We have had Samantha take care of two dogs and a cat over the years. It was nice for us to know that Samantha would always arrive on time, and she took the time to not just care for our pets but also to get to know them and play with them. We never had an issue with one of our pets not responding to Samantha's care. if I had to pick one outstanding feature of Samantha relating to pet care, I would have to say that it is very obvious that she adores animals, and that she would go out of her way to help any animal. On a few occasions our cat and dogs had individual illnesses which required more care than usual. Samantha was always up to any task that involved relieving the discomfort our pets were suffering. Any animal under her care would be a lucky animal indeed!
I've known Sam for 20+ years and I don't think she's ever met an animal she didn't get along with. The devotion and dedication to the animals she's owned translates equally to the animals she has fostered and babysat for and I can say with total confidence that I would trust her with the care of any animal, from mouse to Mastiff. She is professional, kind and attentive to the human client as well! :) I would highly recommend her to anyone!
Samantha treats every animal in her care with the same devotion and affection as if they were her own. Samantha brings immense peace of mind because she is trained in pet first aid. Her first aid knowledge allows her to recognize subtle signs of illness or distress that others might miss. She knows exactly how to handle emergencies calmly, administer medications properly, and perform CPR or basic triage if an unexpected situation arises. Knowing that your beloved pet is not only deeply loved but also completely safe in a medical crisis makes Samantha an absolute standout in her field. I cannot recommend her highly enough.
