Information Samantha D. would like to know about your pet
Before interacting with someone’s pets, it’s important to gather key information to ensure their safety and comfort. Knowing a pet’s health status, including vaccinations, medical conditions, and any medications, helps prevent emergencies and ensures proper care. Understanding their behavior and temperament—how they react to strangers, other animals, or certain situations—can prevent accidents and make interactions smoother. Details about diet, feeding schedules, and any restrictions are essential for keeping them healthy, while knowledge of their daily routines, exercise needs, and bathroom habits ensures they stay comfortable and stress-free. It’s also important to be aware of safety concerns, such as escape risks, household hazards, or areas to avoid, and to know emergency procedures in case something goes wrong. Finally, understanding their communication cues and the owner’s instructions can make visits or pet-sitting experiences positive for both the pet and the caregiver.
A typical day
There are many fun activities you can do with pets to keep them happy, healthy, and engaged. For dogs, walks in the park, fetch, tug-of-war, or even agility training can provide both exercise and mental stimulation. Cats often enjoy interactive toys, laser pointers, climbing trees, or puzzle feeders that challenge their curiosity. For smaller pets like rabbits, guinea pigs, or birds, supervised playtime outside their cage, obstacle courses, and foraging games can be exciting. Many pets also enjoy simple bonding activities like cuddling, gentle grooming, or training sessions that reward them with treats. Tailoring activities to the pet’s personality and energy level ensures they have fun while building trust and a strong connection with you.

Pet care experience
I stand out as a sitter because I truly care for each dog like they’re part of my own family, whether I’m helping a puppy learn good habits, giving a senior pup extra patience and comfort, or supporting anxious or shy dogs with a calm, gentle approach. I love keeping owners connected with plenty of photo updates, and I always focus on making every visit safe, happy, and tailored to each dog’s unique needs.
Reviews

We hired Sam for a 2-night house-sitting stay for our two dogs. Both with separation anxiety, and one 19-year-old terrier who requires extra care and uses pee pads exclusively (does not go outside). Before the stay, Sam presented herself as attentive and experienced, and we felt comfortable moving forward after meeting her. We clearly explained both dogs’ needs, including: The importance of someone being present most of the time due to separation anxiety and mandatory presence overnight Our older dog’s tendency to have accidents and the need to monitor and clean them promptly Where all supplies were located and how to handle cleanup During the stay, communication was minimal. We received one photo the first night and did not hear from Sam the following day unless we reached out. When we returned home, we found extensive evidence that the dogs had not been properly cared for: Multiple pee pads were fully saturated (indicating they had not been changed for an extended period) Urine and feces in multiple rooms Waste tracked through the house A heavily soiled kennel Accidents in living areas that required active monitoring This level of buildup strongly suggests the dogs were left alone for extended periods, which goes directly against what was agreed upon. We also have a motion-activated backyard camera that did not capture activity consistent with regular outdoor breaks, giving us reason to believe the younger dog had not been taken outside during the stay. Additionally, Sam stated that she had cleaned the home and that it was “spotless” when she left, which was inaccurate. Given our dogs' age and needs, this situation is extremely concerning. We trusted that our pets would receive attentive care, and that did not occur. We cannot recommend Sam for house sitting, particularly for pets that require close supervision, frequent care, or consistency.

Sammi is Awesome with the Boys.

Samantha was wonderful with our babies! She was very sweet and kind! I feel very comfortable with her sitting our dogs. She was late for the appointment due to difficulties with GPS which caused us to be late for our daughter’s wedding. We did not have enough time for introductions with the dogs and give instructions for walking and care routine. She has great potential!

Samantha went above and beyond for our little bunny. I was nervous I would not be able to find anyone to take care of our bunny for a total of two weeks that my husband and I would be out of town for. Our bunny is a rescue and has had a history of trauma so she is very sensitive. Right before we left for our trip, our bunny had a little health scare. She fully recovered, but of course it made my husband and I uneasy leaving her for a while. I was worried we wouldn’t be able to find someone that could provide the gentle and attentive care that she would need. Samantha, however, was everything we needed. She communicated with me and was willing to make adjustments to our original care plan, in order to make sure that penny was getting extra supervision given her recent health scare. Samantha was willing to spend extra time with penny on Christmas Eve and Christmas. There were some days where she spent several hours with penny when I originally only booked her to spend 1 hour with her a day. She sent us consistent updates with pictures and helped us feel so at ease knowing our bunny was getting the proper care she needed. The really cool thing about Samantha, is that the amount of time and energy that she put into our bunny wasn’t out of obligation, but out of sincere enjoyment of spending time with our bunny. She would consistently express her own enjoyment of being with her. I cannot express how much that means to a pet owner- to see that the person who is taking care of your pet has a care and desire to be with them. I cannot recommend Samantha enough to anyone who needs their pet to be taken care of. She is kind, gentle, attentive, adaptable, and a great communicator. Thank you for everything, Samantha!
