Update: Back at it in September 2026 after a couple years learning to become a vet tech! Now 2 years experience in 2 different clinics (Foxbank and Cainhoy) plus working with a dog trainer/boarder/day camp host (Pete’s Pack Walks). Between the 2 I’ve learned a ton about dog health and behavior. With 20+ years of total experience, I have seen and done it all when it comes to dog sitting. My specialty is anxious/aggressive dogs, but I also have experience with puppies from 24 hour care post-birth to training, kennel dogs (show dogs in need of socialization & volunteer work), senior dogs, and medical issues. Since relocating from Boston, I completed all the dog handling trainings via the Charleston Animal Society and am in the process of becoming first aid/emergency certified for dogs :) I live in an apartment with my service dog: she gets along with all dogs and has been used by my friends to help train their dogs. If your dog likes dogs I’m happy to bring her, if not it is no problem.

Sammi does a wonderful job with my puppy Looch. He can be great, but defiantly has the puppy terror energy sometimes as well. He loves seeing her and she does a great job with him.
Samantha LOVES animals! She treats her dog like a family member and will do the same to yours! I recommend her so highly to anyone who wants/ needs a responsible and loving person to care for their dog. She has watched our dog and sent videos everyday! We were very happy with Samantha and recommend her highly!

There aren't enough stars to give! I have two small senior pups that are very slow to warm up to new people and can be challenging to put it kindly... Samantha was kind and patient, sending progress reports to us the entire trip. By the time our trip was winding down (just a long weekend) my girls were contentedly curled up on her lap! Samantha is warm and responsible and will treat your dogs like her own.

Schedule
My routine is 90% pet care between caring for my own and helping friends watch theirs, studying to be a Veterinary Technician, volunteering at the Charleston Animal Society, and helping consult my friend’s dog training/camp business which has 20+ dogs in attendance for morning camp I help with - I’ve learned a lot about dog behavior. I ALWAYS prioritize and give my full attention to any dog in my care.

I have a ton of space for dogs to play and the sweetest dog ever if your dog prefers company, or she can stay home/with a neighbor if your dog doesn’t like others. I live by my mother’s mantra to always leave a home cleaner than I found it :) I never lose sight of the dogs in my care to ensure they do not get into anything unsafe and have been trained in dog handling/training.

A typical day
I will do anything to make my four legged companions happy and anxiety free by catering to each individual dog’s needs. If your dog has limitless energy then we'll go on runs to the park, to the beach to play fetch, or find a fun hiking spot. Having the option to go to Pete’s Pack Place, my friend’s training business, is also awesome because there’s tons of fenced in land the dogs can run around and I can go there (Bonneau) anytime. I love taking the dogs I watch to pet stores and learning which toys they like to play with best. If your dog likes other dogs, I love to bring them to visit my dog and/or friend's dog to play since I know they are dog friendly. If all the pup wants to do is cuddle on the couch I'll gladly snuggle with them all day and night.

- I love big dogs, but I'm open to all breeds and ages! I make all necessary accommodations based on if your dog: prefers to be alone or with other dogs, is high or low energy, has separation anxiety, allergies - anything to ensure I am able to provide the best care.
