I love animals to the end that I now dedicate my life to them. I have worked as an emergency vet tech, to a barn with exotic animals and teaching children about animals as well as teaching adults on how to care for their furry companion and how to save their life in an emergency, to working in Veterinary medicine for wildlife and exotic animals and wildlife rehabilitation. I always wanted to work with animals ever since I was a little girl in South Africa, my mother made sure I was exposed to all aspects of the world of animals which taught me a lot and that I carried to my adult hood and through my education. I have been a dog lover my whole life. I have been working In the field of care for animals for over 7 years now, started as a dog walker, then became an obedience trainer and continued to become licensed as Pet first responder and licensed to train owners in first aide and CPR for cats and dog. I now work in the veterinary field as an on call Vet Tech. I look forward to meeting everyone and the fur kids and my fur kids love to meet new friends too. I live in New Haven with my amazing 3 legged lab mix who loves to make new friends and bring them on hiking adventures to discover new smells and introduce them to his favorite spots to find sticks and lose balls. My experience administering medication As a Veterinarian Technician I am comfortable and able to administer medications orally, sub Q, IM and IV.

Sam is AMAZING!!!!!! I cannot say enough about how lucky we were to find Sam. Unexpectedly, just a few days before a lengthy trip, one of our senior pups suffered a seizure in the middle of the night. We couldn't cancel our trip, but we found ourselves with increased anxiety about leaving the dogs and unable to ask our usual housesitter to potentially administer his new emergency medications. We were immediately drawn to Sam's experience as an ER vet tech, but meeting her surpassed even our wildest hopes: she has such a deep wealth of experience in caring for animals and a real passion for ensuring animals live their best, most comfortable lives. As part of her daily visits, Sam did wellness checks on the dogs and sent us detailed, reassuring updates about how well our dog was adjusting to his new medication. Recognizing their limited mobility, she spent her visits loving on them and doing gentle stretches to help with their joints. We returned to healthy, happy pups, and the peace of mind we were able to find on the trip, especially knowing our medically complex dog was in such great hands, was invaluable. We will happily work with Sam again and cannot recommend her to others more highly!
I was a lil scared doing this. I’ve never left our puppy anywhere or with anyone, Samantha made it sssooo easy!! She put us at ease, sent multiple pictures throughout their visit! I’m a believer!!
Samantha is our go to when we need a petsitter. She always takes great care of our dog and cats. In addition, she is a great communicator and leaves our home in the way it was when she arrived. We highly recommend her for your petsitting needs.

Samantha took AMAZING care of our babies and our home. She sent lots of updates and photos giving us peace of mind. Our very shy cat even came out to get cuddles with Samantha. She left our house so clean as well! She made us some special homemade popcorn as a coming home gift. A very thoughtful added touch.we will definitely use Samantha again when we travel.

Safety, trust & environment
I will always do my best to be flexible for where you choose to have your pups stay. I do regular walks at least 4x a day and make sure that when your pups stay with me they have access to where they want. Always have lots of dog beds available as well as they are welcome to have snuggles whenever they want.

A typical day
I can happily take your pup around the block to stretch their legs or for an amazing group hiking adventure on local trails that last from an hour to and hour and a half. I do recommend that all dogs are up to date with flea and tick medication and up to date on all vaccines.

- I always like to meet all the pups to make sure they are comfortable with me. If you would like your pup to do the hikes it is important that they are dog friendly. Up to date on all Vaccines are very important.
