I have been around animals all of my life. I grew up on a farm and I constantly had cows, rabbits, ducks, cats and dogs around me. I worked at a wildlife rescue taking care of all types and sizes of animals. I volunteered for no kill shelters walking dogs and did meetups to help dogs find their forever home. I have 2 dogs; one is very energetic, a bird dog, and the other is a small to medium sized dog that is more relaxed. We enjoy hiking and going on adventures to the pet store or around town. I love to keep our dogs minds sharp and encourage activities that engage their brains. This includes puzzles, hide and seek, or even just a long walk exploring the area. I love taking dogs on walks and being outside, especially when it is nice weather. Feel free to ask about anything and I am willing to answer any of your questions.

I am very aware of pups that try to make a bolt for it out the front doors. I always try to keep a close eye on coming in and out of the house. I have walked dogs at shelters before that pull on leashes and have learned several safety precautions to help keep both of us safe. I always walk with a dog deterrent sound alert. I also always assume that a pet could be aggressive towards the pet I am walking. I move out of their way and give them the right of way, or move to the other side of the street. I am aware of toxins for the pets and am very vigilant to keep a close eye on the pets. I have worked with fearful dogs and aggressive dogs. I give fearful dogs space and handled situations based on owners instructions. I will not do anything an owner has not instructed to do.

Samantha is truly a gem! She has watched our dogs several times and takes such good care of them while we’re away. I’m a paranoid pet parent so it’s hard for me to leave my babies with anyone, but Samantha makes it easy. She easily learned our dogs behaviors, which are very opposite from one another, and noticed the little details about their habits and caters to that. She was even able to gain the trust of our extremely skittish rescue (who is very hard to win over). My husband and I look forward to our pup-dates every day and always laugh at the pictures she gets of our dogs. If you’re nervous about hiring someone to watch your animals, I hope this review helps you feel a little more comfortable hiring Samantha for your pet sitting needs.

Samantha has cared for our two cats periodically over the last three years. She always does a great job and I have peace of mind knowing our cats are well cared for while we are away.
Samantha did sit-in visits for our two cats. She cleaned up after them well. It was our first time using the Rover app, and we would use Samantha’s services again.
We have used Sam 3 times now for our pets (1 cat, 1 small dog, and 1 medium dog). She is awesome with them. Our dogs needed some meds this go around and she made sure to give it to them every morning! She sends lots of pictures and updates on their behaviors, which is so sweet to know, especially since our babies have serious separation anxiety! Additionally, Sam was very accommodating and willing to help on short notice. We learned our departure was delayed by 6 hrs and were so worried our fur babies wouldn’t have the opportunity to go outside for a 10 hr window. She responded as soon as she could, at let us know she was available for an additional last minute visit! The kiddos love playing with her and getting love! Will book again, if we need another dog sitter in the future!

Schedule
I have availability in the morning M-F until 11:30 am. Weekend availability will depend on my family’s schedule. I do have a young child that I need to be mindful of her schedule as well
